ALT Mental health conditions are over diagnosed. This is the narrative pushed by the media over the weekend. It's unhelpful - and a distraction from the real issues we should be talking about. The number of young people waiting over a year for NHS support rose by 55% last year. The media and the government's focus should be on getting those waiting lists down - and making sure young people get the support they need, when they need it. Most young people don’t want a label. They want help. It’s time we fix our broken mental health system and give it the investment it urgently needs.
