Elon Musk found us here. We’re indigenous to this land.
If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

I took a look at the way top female studio execs being ousted due to mergers and layoffs, and how it'll hurt the movies Hollywood gets to make and who gets to tell those stories: vanityfair.com/story/layoffs…

Amid the upheaval at Netflix, an analysis of executive movement reveals you’re much more likely to get fired faster at a streaming service than a traditional studio. Via @StephenFollows. ⬇️⬇️ puck.news/why-streaming-jobs…

What do people think a documentary is….it’s inherently subjective, it’s not supposed to be the news lol

If you want a documentary on Elisabeth Holmes with whistleblowers, investigators and journalists exploring the accusations against her. Alex Gibney made that film in 2019. Nathan and Lance made a film about a person preparing for prison and unable to admit why they’re going.

So many spectacular moments in YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING but I particularly loved giving Lance Oppenheim one line of on-screen dialogue to say “that’s not…a real documentary” about the Harry and Meagan Netflix show

“destroy the art of documentary filmmaking” …what are you even talking about…
Replying to @AkilahObviously
I cannot articulate why it feels fascist to destroy the art of documentary filmmaking. Another institution that kinda wasn’t a problem. Partially think it should’ve been a reality show??

why are people acting like Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder are the first to play with the perception of reality in a documentary

Very very funny that there’s an unlikely but real scenario where You Can See Everything gets a Best Picture nomination but not a Best Documentary nomination

I saw the Nathan/Lance doc last night, and one thing I keep thinking about is whether it’ll get nominated for Doc feature at the Oscars. No shade, but the doc branch has always been a little weird about celebrity stories and filmmakers. Curious how they’ll react to the the hybrid

Also l think between this film and John Wilson’s The History of Concrete there’s something great happening with nonfiction and its ability to get people into a movie theater and enjoy something other than true crime and sports documentaries
