Outcome harvesting is key in project implementation as it helps an organization answer the question of what/who changed, when said change happened and what key strategies where implemented to achieve the change. This further informs review of engagement strategies to achieve more impact 👌
Knowing this, @Connected_dev hosted #PowerOfVoices #FairForAll partners (a project implemented in 6 oil producing states with focus on empowering and amplifying their voices to enhance civic engagement, promote transparency/accountability and improve service delivery in the region) to an outcome harvesting meeting. Key successes highlighted includes👇
1. Amendment of the Host Community Development Regulations of 2022 in July 2024 by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to create a power balance that gives the commission more authority to hold oil companies accountable and ensure the implementation of the 3% of operating cost provision of the PIA to Host Community Development Trust Fund (HCDTF)
2. Incorporation of a monitoring interface on NUPRC portal to monitor the disbursement of the 3% fund provision to HCDTF. This will help keep track of oil companies that have fulfilled this obligation and the ones delaying/defaulting.
As @connected_dev continues engagements in these states, our goal is to ensure that these funds are judiciously utilized for the development of the oil communities 👌
