The Eagles’ offensive collapse goes far beyond the QB position. From schematic limitations to a non-existent run game and a failure to adjust, the Eagles have no easy answers.
What’s gone wrong and how did it get to this point?

The NFC East in 2027 is going to look very, very different.
Changes are coming in abundance across the division.
Commanders spread it out and allowed Jayden Daniels to win with his arm/legs down the field the entire 2nd half but run a draw to Jeremy McNichols on 3-3 in the red zone, taking the ball out of their best players hands when it mattered most.
Head scratcher.
The lack of attention to detail and adjustments from week-to-week is staggering in this Eagles offensive tape.
Biggest thing again from yesterday is the predictability and lack of execution when under center that really should lead to them just potentially canning that whole act. The Eagles will also not straight dropback and pass. Not even to just show a look, they just don’t do it… at all.
It’s always either a run or a play-action fake allowing defenses to blitz at will without the fear of countering a quick hitter. Teams watch tape!! You have to make adjustments and it shouldn’t take six weeks to do so.
It’s an operation that has some of the rules/alignment/personnel that makes the Shanahan offense operate, but seemingly zero idea into how to execute it. It’s plays on a sheet and that’s about it. Zero sequencing, zero execution, zero adjustments, head scratching blocking assignments(not just the OL), it really is unfortunate how we’ve even reached this point.
Pre-camp you heard that the wide zone ground game will open up play-action from under center to access the middle of the field on shallow/intermediate routes taking advantage of LBs to get WRs/TEs in open space. Shanahan/McVay staple.
Well… here’s the middle of the field in Week 6. Everything outside the numbers. Mostly everything from shotgun. And a non-existent ground game that isn’t even a threat.
There are many factors that can affect usage/volume, but it's really a shame how this Eagles offense is using Makai Lemon.
I think he's run upwards of 10 five-yard sit routes today, there's been minimal pre-snap movement in/out of stacks or bunches to work into free releases, zero opportunities to attack over the middle of the field (what he did best at USC), just a vanilla, High School-like route tree and overall offensive structure for the Eagles. Away from even just having the opportunity to target him, conceptually it just flat out isn't good enough. You're losing reps before the ball is even snapped.
Pressures allowed from the Eagles OL in the 1H (24 pass pro snaps):
Jordan Mailata: 0
Willie Lampkin: 1
Jake Majors: 0
Tyler Steen: 1
Markel Bell: 1
I continue to be so darn impressed with Markel Bell. He's been rock solid in pass pro and watching him seal and climb to the second level at his size is fun to watch.
Kid's a player.
Regardless of his timeline, a very scary situation for Jalen Hurts. Wishing him all the best in his recovery.
Some clarity on the situation from a good friend in the medical field:
“An uncomplicated superficial clot can resolve within 3-6 weeks, but symptoms could improve sooner. For Jalen, and given the nature of his profession with explosive movements in his legs, the bigger concern is whether the clot extends into the deeper veins which can lead to more serious complications and a much longer recovery. The location and extent of the clot, along with the treatment required, will ultimately dictate the timeline. It’s definitely not something to mess around with.”
Man…
Among the 49 defenders that have faced at least 23 targets in coverage, Eagles DB Quinyon Mitchell ranks 2nd in the NFL in passer rating allowed (58.2) behind only Byron Murphy (MIN).
Mitchell is also giving up just 1.5 yds after the catch per reception — best in football among the 80 players that have faced at least 20 tgts.
All-Pro type of stuff once again from 27.
Sometimes all it takes is for a young guy to get an opportunity, and Willie Lampkin more than took advantage of his in London.

Markel Bell continues to take steps at RT.
Nice rep v Travon Walker — balanced, kicks Walker’s inside hand out, wins the rep. That’s a big man movin’ at 6’9”, 345.
Bell also had an excellent rep v Walker in the run game, as well.
Simple 1-10 but a rep that stood out yesterday with Jake Majors/Willie Lampkin working in tandem.
This is good football up front. 🗣️⤵️
Very, very impressed with the Willie Lampkin tape, especially for a guy making his first ever start.
Not easy limiting guys like Travon Walker and Arik Armstead, and I thought Lampkin did an excellent job against varying body types. Jacksonville mixed it up along the LOS throughout the game with different alignments, stunts/twists, and Lampkin handled it all extremely well.
I’ll have a full All-22 breakdown up on the site tomorrow.
