First in to the @Phoenixcinema for a special fundraiser screening today (following chair of the @_SaveThePhoenix fundraising committee) who gave good cheer reporting on money-raising efforts & intentions with 100 volunteers + tapping the support of film makers. Great programming!

It’s that time again... “Merry Christmas, movie house!” IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE @Phoenixcinema & a Festive Fundraiser screening for @_SaveThePhoenix campaign. I’ve bought raffle tix, put money in the bucket, had a shot of sherry & ready to make merry (with a hanky at the ready...)

So, @LoveGildaFilm was great. I learnt, I laughed, I loved & I cried. Felt a lot of warmth & joy within the audience & it was great to hear from Lisa D’Apolito about what went into realising this project. Hats off to @SorceressOfFilm for programming it @Phoenixcinema!

Lots of great ideas put forward today, it's important that the Phoenix continues this type of engagement with a willing and committed local community.

Phoenix trustees are now working with staff and customers to find a solution to try to keep the cinema independent. However if urgent fundraising is not successful, the Curzon takeover will likely still happen. #SaveThePhoenix
