The Frontiers DLC with Tails Knuckles and Amy is what we expected Sonic games to be like after Unleashed. Not Colors.
Never in my life have I met anyone in real life that plays or has heard of Yakuza, Puyo Puyo, etc. The only reason I (and the majority of you) are aware of the existence of those franchises is because we heard about them on the internet from being Sonic fans.

Maybe if they wouldn't have made Colors and kept trying to turn the franchise into a childish comedy completely disregarding the established tone the franchise had for 20 years prior, they wouldn't have been in that position.
Sonic Team Head Takashi Iizuka says he's had to fight for the series not to get cancelled at different times:
“There had been good times, and there had been bad times.
During the worst times, I was told by the higher-ups that we should cancel the entire franchise. I had to fight within the organization to keep the franchise as long as possible.”

Sonic Colors was the beginning of the downfall. The entire tone of the series changed and the gameplay became worse. Then they tried latching onto that kiddy comedy and no storyline for 10 years. Yeah, it was bad & you had like 7 year olds online (for some reason) praising Colors

This was cool and all but my only nitpicks are Shadow's model/eyelids being incorrect and the fan voice acting when they literally just repeated lines that have already been recorded by the actual voice actors
