Every girl deserves the chance to learn, grow and decide what her future will look like. No girl should have her childhood cut short by early marriage or be denied the opportunity to fulfil her potential.
On this International Day of the Girl Child, with the theme ‘End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights,’ I reaffirm my commitment to protecting our girls, keeping them in school and ensuring they have the freedom and support to shape their own futures.
We must listen to our girls, take their concerns seriously and create an environment where they feel safe and heard.
