I’ve been preaching how every major tech trend started by someone giving the world a new mental model, and this directory just proves it

Look at him, thats my Qual. Your what? My Qualitative! My vibe specialist. Look at him, you notice anything different about him? Look at his face. I'll give you a hint, his name is Jayden. He won a local poetry competition in bushwick! Yeah I'm sure of the vibe.
Quant firms are hiring idea guys, not quants I've been skeptical about the whole - software is commoditized, ideas are the moat argument But I've seen first hand the best quant and technical firms in the world hire thinkers, liberal arts grads, and generalists I predict the trend accelerates Letter from @AQRCapital below

If you told me that in 2026 everyone in tech would be copying Yung Lean I would have thought you were insane
that feeling when they say AI killed saas but keep buying your CRM

This is feeling like 3D printing for tech. Wait for your uncle to tell you how he vibe coded a jar opener at the men’s shed.
just Claude writing a MacOS driver for my obscure HP printer built only for Windows support

AKA your brand needs a mental model
My hottest take is that brand marketing is going to be THE major differentiator and one of the most prized assets for a company going forward. And, I’m not talking about launch videos or pouring money primarily for “aesthetics” simply to pump the valuation. You still need retention before attention. I’m talking about thinking through what a company stands for and understanding the “vibe” of what’s happening in the market. Being relentless on the long term goal while also thinking through how to showcase the company in the short term. And doing it every week. Especially if you think agents become the primary user for most products, then to get the attention of a rapidly attention deficit audience (aka humans) you’ll need to stand out consistently in how you present the company. These folks primary have been given tier 2 roles and passed up for CMOs many many times. I think this will finally invert in the next 10 years where you’ll hire these folks as cofounders or at least give them a big seat at the table. Normally the design centric CEO tends to be this, but those are rare and you’ll need to learn how to hire for this role. Just like a good product marketer, these are exceptionally rare so you have one hold them close!!

The internet has become so specialised that we’ve forgotten the value of the curious generalist

Hiring: Creative Lead - Strategy & Delivery (PST) This is a rare opportunity to do hybrid strategy and delivery work. To shape the trajectory of technologies changing the world: think biotech, neurotech, quantum, robotics, AI, climate. If we find the right person here, we may never hire for this role again. Details in comments.

It’s crazy to me that people outside of tech just dont get that you can use Claude to build anything. Like wdym I can just make a widget that tells me the status of my bike

New in Claude Cowork: teach Claude a skill. Record your screen while you do a task, talk through it as you go, and Claude turns it into a skill it can run again. Find it under Record a skill in the + menu of the Claude desktop app. Available on Pro, Max, and Team plans.

For a small productivity gain, you too can train Claude on how to replace you. I joke, but it’s definitely beginning to feel like the end of the general purpose AI dream we have been sold.

Reflecting on this article I wrote a year ago that AI has been waiting for its iPhone moment of “oh yeah, we should make a phone touch screen” I think voice is almost at that moment, we are just one iteration away. open.substack.com/pub/alexta…
New speak-to-AI setup: ✅ DJI Mic 3 ✅ foot pedal to trigger @WillowVoiceAI I no longer have to waste 7/10th of a second to press a keyboard shortcut to capture voice The mic’s come in pairs. when one dies, the other goes live Will report back on productivity improvements

The team at @interfaceclub are pumping out new features at record pace. Each new Buoy release on the beta has been impressive.
Our team @interfaceclub has been working on a fully redesigned experience for Buoy. We’re building the best AI agent app, both in functionality and design. We need feedback from a small group of testers who we can work closely with. You'll be trying features like: • Real time voice mode • New inline chat UI for text editing and multiple choice • Agent payments • Daily digest • Revamped memory system • Enhanced web browsing reliability • New app integrations And much more!

Something I've noticed: The more brilliant the founder The more breakthrough the technology The easier it is to misunderstand them Even Anthropic is not immune. @_alfrescodining and I are calling this 'Fluency Debt.' Full essay here → enterdreamlab.com/thinking/f…

My big prediction for 2026. Your tasks moves to the cloud. The $599 MacBook Neo is a signal. Devices are becoming interfaces. The real work happens in the cloud. I'm testing this starting now. Laptop stays at the office. iPad and phone only at home.
