The amount of abandonware software is just enormous I run JellyBox player since 2023 - thats OSS music player Because of that I'm deep into all the music app marketing stuff, reddit, forums, chats, etc Over last 6-9 months I'm seeing at least 3-5 new apps popping up. All in same manner - a test flight link, poorly done landing page(most looks the same). The guy asks 2-3 bucks for his app, promising a lot of features Then in 2-3 months app gets abandoned with no new updates or features. I was making a list of apps to watch and just been checking them occasionally - 95% of apps are dead by now with 0 updates at least few months, the other 5% are just launched recently and havent been abandoned yet, but probably will be too in few weeks or month

The ArtCraft thing has a long standing consequences Ppl praising it like there were no free alternative, while in fact there were, but people were just lazy to even google for them. Plus the "corporate-hate" I see from a lot of folks. I don't like adobe's approach to subscription too, but lets be honest - you pay because their software do the job and you get paid for the job that was done. Same as you don't mind to pay claude, or any other tool that helps you to make $$ The problem with this - if companies stop developing these tools - we probably will stuck in toolset that exists now and no new things to be invented and created Why ? Simply because you need real scientists to make something. Say you want to add some CAD tool or capability. You need real math guys who can do the calculations for you first. These formulas isnt something you can google - they are results of months of work to achieve something. None of ppl who vibecoded apps are a real scientists and willing to contribute months of their time to implement something new in app they vibecoded. LLMs won't help with this either. Even setting up a code for 3d viewing - scene, camera, etc requires good math understanding. I'm afraid there won't be next "gausian splatting" feature which changed how vfx is done these days

you don't need to be smart to use AI, that's the problem biggest problem that will lead to even bigger problems
We will call it “the big dip” one day: a time where many devs stopped being curious about the inner workings of their code & just started playing World of Warcraft instead of being curious about the future of their craft. Smart enough to use AI, not smart enough to leverage it.

Fixed my 48v battery that powers my place Turned out one of balance wires got loose, made bus bar to overheat and lead to big disbalancr between cells All or took to tight it and about 20 mins of debugging

but why, dude? you now bound to maintain it forever, not saying about adding new features, etc those subs probably costs like 0.000001% of what you make and you'd spend more time/money just for prompting them?
As I posted before, I've cancelled almost all of the SaaS subscriptions for my business The only thing I still pay for as a business: - AI inference - Hetzner server hosting - Cloudflare storage - Backblaze backups - Taxes Now I started cancelling personal subscriptions too and just vibecoding my own versions or using Claude to take an open source project that does the same and then customize it for myself All I still pay for personally is: - Claude Code - YouTube (content) - Spotify (content) - Starlink (internet) - Phone eSIM - Personal cloud storage - Electricity and water (utility) - Taxes So if we summarize it for both, I only still pay for: - AI inference - Content - Cloud storage & hosting - Connectivity - Electricity & water - Taxes So to summarize all my money now goes to: - Content - Data centers - Power plants + water - Governments I think we'll be facing a tidal wave of cancellations once people find out how much money they can save It's just how the economy works

Pls stop hype around vibe coded adobe clones Adone isnt going anywhere, enterprises won't run to switch to vibe coded solution, singles will play with vibe coded and go back to their original tools which they know how to work with This really starts to feel like ai-psychosis already

"I didnt check if it works, but trust me bro - it works, just drop in and see yourself. Let me know if something isnt works." 😂
Announcing tsc-rs (aka ts-rust), my complete rewrite of the Typescript compiler, type checker, and LSP, all in Rust. This is a project I've had agents working on for 5 months now. I burned ~$400k of Codex tokens and got nowhere. Burned ~$20k of Opus and got there in 2 weeks. I have not read a single line of the code. tsc-rs is an open source drop-in replacement for tsc, and it's available now.

i think this mixes up 2 concerns ai isnt going anywhere bubble might burst though and there might be new players on the market after that, maybe even on smaller grade, each focuses on its own niche
why do people think that if the ai bubble bursts, that ai is gone ai is not going anywhere
