Delisted from stores. Studio shut down. Locked behind 30 FPS on the PS4 for over a decade. Today, DRIVECLUB finally breaks out onto PC. FitGirl just rolled out a standalone repack powered by the driveclub-recomp (v0.2.5) project. This runs native x86-64 code directly on PC hardware no emulator setup, no shader stutter headaches. The breakdown: • Complete Edition: Updated to v1.28 with every single DLC pack pre-loaded • Hardware Unshackled: High refresh rates on the most jaw-dropping dynamic weather engine ever built • Insane Compression: Shrunk from 35.1 GB down to a 9 GB download • Zero Hassle: Lossless install, pre-patched launcher, and quick switching between US/EU builds The greatest lighting and rain physics in racing history finally get the hardware power they deserved all along.
Sony wouldn't do it. So the community did. 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲: 𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is now live on 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 as a standalone PC release. Not an emulator setup. This is a pre-configured, 1-click repack of the 𝗯𝗯𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝘃𝟭.𝟵.𝟲) native PC recompilation. What’s included in the package: • 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗖 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Runs directly on x86-64 hardware via Vulkan • 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁: Base game (v1.09) + The Old Hunters DLC • 𝟲𝟬+ 𝗙𝗣𝗦 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱: Bye-bye 30 FPS frame-pacing lag • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: Multiplayer features integrated • 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗴: Pre-patched and ready to launch After 10 years of waiting, Yharnam is finally playable on PC without touching a console. Question clé : donne-t-il l’objectif ou laisse-t-il les gens dans le flou avec du micro-management ?

Back in 2021 I interviewed at Vercel and I failed badly. I couldn’t implement a debounce function and was stuck for like 30 minutes. It was pretty embarrassing. 10 months later (2022) I interviewed again and got the job. Don’t give up!

🚨 PS4 exclusive DRIVECLUB is now playable NATIVELY on PC, and it's getting features the original console version never had! 🔥 • Native Windows implementation, no CPU emulation • 4K and even up to 8K resolution support • Unlocked FPS without speeding up the game • Ultrawide support • NVIDIA DLAA support • AMD FSR 3.1 Native AA support • Modern Vulkan rendering • Keyboard + gamepad support • Mod support • Around 60 FPS at native 4K reported on an RTX 5070 Ti + 5800X3D DRIVECLUB was stuck at 30 FPS on PS4 and never received an official PC release. Now the community is basically giving it the PC remaster Sony never made. 👀🔥 Credit to the developers behind DriveClub Recomp and the other community projects making this possible.

We've been working on this for a while and I'm super excited to finally share it! MaPC lets you play your Windows PC games natively on Apple Silicon Macs, no Wine setup. The free public beta is out now. abduzeedo.com/product-design…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The author later confirmed it is in fact not native and is just another Wine wrapper. x.com/abduzeedo/stat…

AI reverse engineering, Now you can now pair an Apple Watch Ultra-2 with Android. This open-source tool connect an Apple Watch to Android devices instead of being locked to iPhone. - and manage parts of the watch from a non-Apple phone. - Android version currently requires Root Magisk. - Full feature parity isn’t here yet, but pairing, basic management, and interface control already work. - github.com/LordixDemon/apple…

It’s never been easier to make bread at home Yet 99% of us buy it weekly at the shop It’s the same thing.
Software is dead It's now the era of personal software and everyone just builds what they need whenever they need it I think

Saying software is dead because everyone can create it with agents is like saying movies are dead because billions of ppl have a high res video camera in their pockets Movies doing better than ever+more ppl make a living from videos, movies, TV than ever (Analogy from @simonw)
Saying software is dead because anyone can build it is like saying photography is dead now that everyone in the world has a camera in their pocket Not only is it not dead it's the beginning of the Kodak Brownie moment for software, and we will see an absolute explosion of it It will be the first generation for who building software will feel no different than using it. This is crazy! The quality and bar of what we expect from our everyday apps will be raised dramatically, we'll have personal software, we'll have disposable software, and agents will be the foundation for most of it Tech has always been chaotic and evolving, the people who have been able to adapt and move in front of new opportunities have always excelled, this is nothing new, I'm seeing it now and we'll see it 10 years from now Find the opportunities in the chaose and disruption, there are countless of them

I’ve been spending time in the “real world”, reconnecting with friends far away from tech The general consensus: Nobody cares about software Nobody thinks about software Everyone is bringing up families, planning their next vacation, gossiping about others. Working out what’s for dinner tonight. Who’s taking the kids to that appointment. And i get the sense most normal people look at the ai thing and think we’re idiots. Concerned it’s going to take their job or replace them. When I explain it’s happening in software they kinda look at me and you can see the look on their eyes like they truly don’t care. Software has always been this magical thing thst just exists. I don’t think anybody really thinks about where it comes from. Now ai makes it and they’re like… yeah.. well.. doesnt change my view on it. And that’s kinda a comforting thought, because the average user doesn’t care. They never did, they’re not going to vibe code a remote control for their tv. They’ll just download an app. But the issue our industry faces now isn’t “software is solved”…. it’s: too many cooks in the kitchen. Same number of people in the restaurant.
I’m really trying to pretend this is true so RC doesn’t get steamrolled, but the more I think about it, the less I buy it. 1. Historically, the production of many types of goods have decreased dramatically in complexity and it didn’t transition to everyone just building it themselves. When electric tools were invented, did everyone transition to making their own furniture? Did the word processor end the book industry? Did the camera end the art industry? None of these quite match what we’re seeing but I haven’t found a case where humans have de-specialized. 2. Most consumers are exactly that, consumers. They are much lower agency than your average software person, probably lower creativity, and aren’t going to start building their own novel solutions to problems all of a sudden. Perhaps the models get so good they can do it somewhat transparently, but that would still require dictating requirements to the models, which itself is not something most consumers will be great at. And part of making “good” software is being opinionated. Models, due to the efforts of alignment, are limited in what they can say no to. The user asks for something that makes the software worse? “You’re absolutely right!” I’m not sure that taste and alignment are fully compatible. 3. Nothing ever happens. I think software will evolve, and what was a successful app three years ago will be very different three years from now, but it just doesn’t seem likely that after 10,000 years of increasing specialization and craftsmanship, humans will just resort to self reliance all of sudden. We want the expert opinion of other humans. We are interested in novel tools and experiences. Software products often bring with them community and identity that won’t go away. I just think an amplified version of the current trajectory more plausible than a complete reversal. Tell me why I’m wrong!
