I’ve listened to Chris Brown’s music closely for years and covered him the best way I know how — the catalogue, the tours, the commercial peaks, the vocal ability that still separates him. That work exists and doesn’t disappear. 1/6

Going forward I will still evaluate Chris Brown’s music on its merits when it is relevant. Yes, he is human. However, I will not spend time and energy defending the personal conduct, framing it as a temporary subplot, or protecting a narrative around. 5/6

The art and the pattern are both part of the public record. Moving forward, I'm choosing to keep analysing the art and stop carrying the rest. That's the line for me. 6/6

What Chris Brown’s security setup currently represents is the structural opposite of a real protection team. His OHB-affiliated security happen to be participants in the escalation itself which is why he needs to set a professional boundary. davyben.medium.com/introspec…

What this means for Chris Brown: If he commits another crime or violates any specific conditions set by the judge during the period, the suspended will be revoked and he will be sent directly to prison to serve the original eight-month term, on top of any new penalties.
🚨𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Chris Brown has been sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months, meaning he will 𝐍𝐎𝐓 be going to prison after pleading guilty to affray over a confrontation at a London nightclub. The R&B Tour continues.

Meanwhile, if he successfully completes the 12 months without any further offenses/violations, the prison sentence is gone permanently and he’ll never have to serve that time.
In short, today serves as the last final warning for Chris Brown.

Amongst the Recording Academy’s multiple atrocities, Remi Wolf having zero Grammy nominations is one of the biggest crimes in modern music

Calling Chris Brown an underachiever is a stretch when you factor in the industry constraints he’s dealt with for over a decade. He’s owned his choices, and the catalogue is stacked. The real question is how much further he could’ve gone if self-sabotage wasn’t in the equation.

Chris Brown is an underachiever. Super talented, should have done more.

Gatekeeping doesn’t become progressive just because you drop names. R&B has ALWAYS had room for both the stadium/radio version and the experimental one. Treating commercial success like contamination and underground work like the only “real” thing is the actual narrowing.
R&B “purists” dumbed the genre down to whatever Chris Brown is making, while artists like Kelela and Ravyn Lenae were actually pushing R&B forward and barely got recognized for it. Now the definition is so narrow its actual innovators don’t even qualify 🚮

The time has finally come. Chris Brown has officially transitioned from a “Global Hitmaker” to a “Legacy Touring Entity.” Missing the global hitmakers chart highlights a shift away from streaming longevity, but his massive stadium runs show where his true power now lies.

If there's a guaranteed Grammy win next year, it's for Shakira and Burna Boy's 'Dai Dai' for Best Global Song (assuming either party submitted). Anything short of a win will be scandalous.

Personal take: BROWN (The Chocolate Edition) isn’t Grammy-nomination material to me. Not sure it’s worth the submission given how the rest of the year stacked up.

It’s actually insane that in 2026, the “leaders of tomorrow” are using their data to slaughter each other over tribe and religion instead of holding the people in power accountable. “They messed with the wrong generation”? No. They just confirmed how stupid this one is.
