You know, Kara Swisher isn’t entirely wrong. Elon Musk probably did commit a federal crime in the 2024 elections cycle with this stunt in Pennsylvania, and likely would have been prosecuted for it if Kamala Harris had won, although it’s unlikely he’d be in jail or prison for it.

The vibe with Republicans seems to be that its OK for them and their allies to commit federal crimes and any attempt to hold them accountable is ā€œlawfareā€ and outrageous.

Trump pardoned or dropped charges against everyone who committed violent crimes on Jan 6th 2021. Those are official actions. They attack the heart of our social contract and democratic way of life. It is crystal clear who these people are and what they want!

It was unconstitutional in the first place for this guy to serve without advice and consent of the Senate. The only scenario where he gets through life without being called to testify is one where the United States stops being a democracy.

Theranos is an example of an American elite that has stopped caring about what is real and what is not real because they deal entirely in persuasion and they have completely succumbed to their own rationalizations.

This is what arrogant managers produce:
Reminder that an anonymous Theranos employee discussed the whole fraud (without naming the company) on a popular subreddit years before the WSJ broke the story

In other words, your ā€œlaw enforcement actionsā€ are indistinguishable from robberies, which people reasonably flee, a fact your bloodthirsty, incompetent agents willfully abuse so they can open fire on people, and you’ve got absolutely nothing to say except total non-sequiturs.

What is it going to take for Republicans to accept that these people are unfit to lead our country?

This hypocrite testified in Congress claiming he was a victim of censorship because Google refused to run ads on some parts of his website. Conservative pundit outrage about freedom of speech is *phoney!* These guys don’t have the same values when the shoe is on the other foot.

The official account of the US Department of Education just endorsed Bo French's position that its bad that there are people who attend the University of Texas who aren’t white.

Elon Musk got on stage at elections events in two different states and held up giant checks that were intended as financial incentives for people to register and vote for his preferred candidate.

Imagine a 46 year old picking on teenagers because they participated in a program that builds character and a commitment to national service. Imagine thinking such a person has the character to lead our armed forces.

I think there are a lot of people who continue to use this website everyday who underestimate the project its owner is engaged in, which they are contributing to by continuing to legitimize this forum. 1/n
When Elon Musk says "zero" children died in Africa from his DOGE cuts, he really means zero children died who are *worthy of any concern.* It's vile coded signaling to his global far-right audience. From me and @PolPhilPod, new deep dive into Muskism: newrepublic.com/article/2135…

...like many people, your thinking about "freedom of speech" is unprincipled. You really just care about freedom for yourself and do not actually care about an objective principle that applies to others. Regardless, there is a lot more going on here.
