i love it so much when biology is described like this. genuinely if you look at biology from an engineering lens, nature is so complex and intricate yet so mind bogglingly simple too. it's all very beautiful
the fact that grass can become a sweater through the intermediary of a sheep ought to astonish us more than it does.

make it a singleton, you need it to set up a stateless concrete software strategy that can instantiate a different abstract software factory depending on the type of software you want to avoid thinking about creating. if you're not doing this are you even an engineer at all? 馃槖
You don't need a software factory. You need an abstract software factory provider which can instantiate concrete software factories without coupling the client to a specific software factory implementation. Have some fucking self-respect.

this! code is an entirely different thing. before AI, a lot of code was already done by copy and paste. ai just removes a few steps. we're all anti-ai but in software it's just a new abstraction layer and not subject to these ethical gymnastics like ai art is.
As an actual web developer... all this anti-ai coding shit is performative and mostly from people who have never wrote a line of code

sth that genuinely makes me sad is the fact that there's levels of academic wizardry that you will never be able to achieve, simply by virtue of receiving 20 years of education in a third world country. like there's no way of knowing what you're missing out on until much later.

spend time trying to cover some of the gaps but you'll never have your formative years back. an example: I love engineering and stem so much but my maths is weak because the primary school I attended had us singing the times table like a song instead of teaching something like

The Trachtenberg system for mental maths. so I will never understand maths like an asian person. and that gap will take years to recover. the technical debt that is the Ghanaian education system makes me sad.

mine was in high school english class. a word would come up and the teacher would mention names, asking for the definition. I couldn't wait for it to be my turn so i could stunt on niggas! it got to a point whenever a new word came up the class just mentions my name.
But back in school, while everyone used to dread their turn to read aloud in class, I secretly wished I鈥檇 get the longest paragraph to read. 馃槀

my father and my uncle instilled in me the habit of keeping a vocabulary journal. forever grateful.
