16 new rules for the @EffectTS_ LSP last week, also in tsrs and Oxlint. They focus on spotting Effect boilerplate and rewriting it to the builtin: mapBoth, fromResult, catchNoSuchElement, failSync, isSuccess, etc… And they come with quickfixes as well!

Last weekend I moved Maple off React and onto @foldkit 100+ pages, 300k+ lines of React. Took me a few hours planning and building a validation harness, then 3 days with Claude to run the rewrite. The result is a 1:1 clone down to every. interaction and animation, with renders ~10% faster on average It's been in production for a week and nobody noticed the switch If you spend the time on a good validation harness, you can rewrite almost anything now Wrote a bit more about why here: maple.dev/blog/react-to-fold…

build agents as state machines agents are messy ~ loops with nested loops and side effects everything can be modelled as a state or an event and you can store the session (history of states and events) as a log
I think I'm addicted to getting agents to build state machines Every time I see an agent has built a state machine (or even just a reducer) I can feel a huge bump in the robustness And I know that future updates will be trivial and testable Would recommend for frontend

We just released support for `llms.txt` in Effect's website. At the moment we support only v4 docs. More content is coming soon and will be added as soon it gets released! effect.website/llms-full.txt Point your agents to and feel free to share your feedback!

Module of the Week #4 is all about how cluster routes messages to the correct entity without a central coordinator. I spent way too much time on the visuals for this week's post, but I think it might be the best one yet. effect.website/blog/module-o…
Effect Cluster, Part 2 - Module of the Week #4 With no coordinator in charge, how does a message find its entity? This week, we define our first entity and follow one message from webhook to punchline 👨 Questions? Office Hours tomorrow, link in 🧵 effect.website/blog/module-o…

Wanted to share a few thoughts regarding the Effect part of this discussion, starting with saying that I do broadly agree with everything that was said and that's exactly why I'd like to add some "maintainer" perspective on the choices.
Welcome to our Monday Meditations! 🌞 Today @badlogicgames and @mitsuhiko are talking why we built Pi Durable, a harness build around a small task-based workflow engine so long-running, multiplayer agents can suspend and resume anywhere. Also: why not Temporal or Effect.ts.

We rebuilt the Effect v4 runtime from the ground up. In our benchmarks against v3: → 5× smaller bundle → 6.4× concurrent task throughput → 86% less memory per fiber
Effect v4 is here. One ecosystem. Zero dependencies. The next chapter of Effect and the foundation for building reliable software and AI agents in TypeScript.

Cloudflare + Alchemy (@alchemy_run) + Effect (@EffectTS_ ) is such a winning stack with AI agents, it's not even real. Provides pretty much all the primitives you need for building any kind of application and ensures proper guardrails & rules to keep the agent on track. And all the infra lives in code - which is how it should be with AI agents.

I am getting on the effect train. Being able to track what errors can happen and if they are all handled is something that I am sure you can eventually get an LLM to do, or you can do it in less than a second and it's 100% reproducible.

Hey @paolino, been using Fastpotify daily! Feedback: filter, even locally, playlists when using "Add to playlist". It's extremely annoying to look for a specific playlist. - is not clear how are they ordered - there is no visual feebdack - no folder (IIRC coz Web API limit)

Update to Effect V4 if you haven't yet!! Did a big sweep over the weekend finally migrating our @superwall monorepo to @EffectTS_ V4. 400k LOC PR later our services are now ~30% faster and use quite a lot less memory.

I'm really excited about all the libraries/DSLs around @EffectTS_. They all: - abstract away a lot of complexity/boilerplate - have close/coherent and higher DX standards - compose natively with Effect itself - solve previously ignored problems due to accidental complexity

In the next version of @EffectTS_ , there will be a 2x improvement in memory usage for the core apis. And a 20% improvement in minor GCs.

I looked at @EffectTS_ for the first time today and I think it works very well with @solid_js 2.0. We naturally absorb async iterators, and our actions already are as well. What do you think? stackblitz.com/edit/github-e…
