BioWare once specialized in giving players consequential choices inside richly drawn worlds. The later turn toward prescribed moral conclusions and modern didactic language inverted that relationship. Agency became conditional. I played the roles of Anders & Cullen in the Dragon Age series and saw first hand the genesis of the companies self-immolation. The commercial result was predictable.
