i really wish he was here to see it. 🤍

both chromatics used in this video are four years old, and they’re still my proudest chromatic scales to this day. i put a lot of care into them back then, I'm really surprised they still hold up, and i’m glad they finally get to exist in something like this.

the cover art for this had only one iteration before the final version. i was actually pretty happy with what i landed on really quickly, which doesn’t usually happen. it felt like i figured out what i wanted almost immediately, and everything just clicked into place.

there’s a strange mix of humor and nostalgia baked into it, which is good. thats what i was going for,

the entire song is based on multiple old troll/alt accounts that kattah used to randomly appear with in the goober gang group chat. those moments were a big part of the inspiration and they were really fun to think about and look back on while i worked on this song.

originally, the song featured slenderman as the player character, but later i decided to use kattah instead as a silly little homage that felt more fitting in the end.

Trivia Time!: this song is actually based on a scrapped track that was originally made for goober88. since it was meant for goober88, the concept and original melody of the song itself is over two years old at this point.

Trivia Time!: this song was based off of the website/story of 17776 by Jon Bois! the cover art of this song has had multiple different versions before settling on the current one! it depicts Pioneer 10, a character from the mentioned website!
