I was actually in Stoke early hours this morning on a delivery. Was considering just getting a bit of sleep in the van and going to the game since I was already there. Any other season I’d have just done that without thinking twice. Fucking blinding decision not to. Watson out!
Watson absolutely has to go. At half time. 11 weeks ago at Newport at about 12.40pm it was clear he was out of his depth, same time as we were 2-0 down today having clearly not improved. You cannot defend him any more. Get fucking gone you short arse Geordie cunt.

I worry that my name, Iain, is dying out. It's getting to the point now where the majority of people that I meet have no idea whatsoever how to pronounce it and I've heard dozens of wildly inaccurate pronunciations. It's only two syllables, it's not difficult.
I get increasingly wound up every time I have to watch England (and Dale) attempt this garbage passing around the back style of football. It’s so unnecessary, all it does it put pressure on yourselves. Why do so many coaches think you have to do it?
Also notable that Tuchel…
Two moments in 2026 that England have to learn from. This inhibiting defensive culture....
1. Thomas Tuchel’s disastrous subbing of Anthony Gordon against Argentina and also, to an extent, against Spain (at least an attacker, Morgan Rogers, came on). Why take your most threatening player off?
2.Marc Guehi, overcome with caution, turning back and into trouble (Lamine Yamal) rather than being positive and picking out Gordon who was free on the left against Spain. We’ll discuss this and much more – Manchester City, Leicester City and more - on the Sunday Edition with me and @PeteGravesTV on @talkSPORT 10-12.
Knew Watson wouldn’t last long after about 15 minutes at Newport. Think that’s a given now. But it’s absolutely vital to our safety that the new manager drops Ramming. We could bring Pep in, we finish bottom with him in net.
I’ve made some bad financial decisions this year, but buying a season ticket yesterday tops the fucking lot

Thomas Tuchel is currently undergoing the usual post-tournament review for an England head coach with his employers, the FA, as per the excellent @SamWallaceTel. All the talk about squad selection and travel distance from World Cup base are side issues. The review should all be about Konsa for Gordon (72) in the World Cup semi-final in Atlanta.
No disrespect to Konsa, an outstanding defender, but Tuchel’s calamitous decision removed England’s best pacey, attacking outlet who was terrifying Argentina’s defence. Sent an encouraging message to Argentina: we’re going to try to shut up shop (against Messi, good luck). Sent a negative message to England players.
How much will the FA focus on this decision? They are hardly going to give him a hard time. They gave Tuchel a new contract before the World Cup, against all lessons from history (hello Capello; break clause removed in 2010). FA improved Tuchel’s contract in length and strength before his ability in crunch moments was properly tested.
FA can herald third place, a best finish since 66, when everyone knows that England wasted their best opportunity since 66 because of Tuchel’s second-half caution. Rashford and Toney didn’t come on until England were 2-1 down, Saka stayed on bench. Disastrous.
FA staff met with Tuchel last week. He will discuss matters with the FA’s performance advisory board next week. The chair, Jobi McAnuff, is a shrewd judge, obviously knows the game. Ditto Sarina Wiegman. Sir Kevin Sinfield has an elite sporting mindset. The other members, Sir Michael Barber, Manoj Badale, Colonel Lucy Giles and Damian Hughes, are very impressive in their own fields but judging an England manager? They could do with an England fan in there, giving some home truths.
It is not to the FA that Tuchel has to explain himself. It is to the England players, some of whom were bemused at his changes against Argentina, and others were surprised at Tuchel’s criticism of their DNA; these are good players, some of them title winners, Champions League winners, wanting England to stay on the front foot as in the first half. Kane, a Tuchel supporter, confirmed recently there will be discussions, reflecting on the summer, during the forthcoming international break.
It is to the England fans that Tuchel also has to explain himself. Fans who spent fortunes to get to games in the US and Mexico. Many of whom supported the team through qualifying, supported them through the lengthening years of hurt. Only to be let down by Tuchel’s second-half changes. Tuchel was brought in because his career indicated he was a master of game-management (Chelsea, 2021 CL final etc). He has so many questions to answers.
Anger remains because it was such a self-inflicted wasted opportunity. When will England get this chance again. Kane will be 36 in 2030 and who looks like being his successor at No 9? Nobody anywhere near close to the great man. England would probably still have lost the final against Spain, the best team in the tournament. But it would have been good to have found out. #ENG
That was genuinely as bad a team performance as I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m not one to overreact early on. That was SO bad, it’s very concerning. Said as much at Tranmere so it’s not a one off. Massive, fundamental improvements needed very quickly or we are in serious trouble.
Leaving the house at 4.50am with a bag of cans. We are so fucking back @officiallydale @EFL
I really want to like Andy Burnham. If he’s for real and carries on like he’s started then I feel like he’s potentially the best PM in my lifetime. But you can’t help but be suspicious of politicians can you.
I’m all for people chipping in here, is he genuine or full of shit?
Well this is as shite and cringeworthy as we knew it would be. Get this half time bollocks in the bin immediately @FIFAWorldCup
