I made worlds by being runner up in AC13. In the finals, I messed up placing a counter on llanowar elf instead of icetill. It’s generous to assume I did this because I didn’t notice I milled too many forests. But I did know that, and I didn’t check my opponents total power
In magic, losing the coin flip matters too much. An entire tournament run can be defined by coin flip score like my 2-6 in the showcase. In pioneer, losing the coin flip against prowess is even more devastating because it makes academic into a burst lightning learn. @WotC_Magic

Granting it's a joke, but just want to point out a polar opposite difference is, when receiving a service or good you should be happy. When receiving 3 losses, you are expected to be sad/mad/etc.
I'm very pleased with my Rank 5 finish in AC11. It brings me back to the PT (for now the 4th time) with the valuable lesson (haha) that I can make it work on tier 1 decks, too. My previous experiences showed otherwise, so it was good for my confidence. I lost only to the winner
I am very proud of this result mtggoldfish.com/deck/7379141… because to get it, I had to endure a staggering 0 for 6 coin flip wins in the swiss, while sick likely with Covid. I could have easily thrown my hands up and said "Guess RNG doesn't want us to play today" but I stuck with it
Thankfully, I was able to assess the fit between two mayoral candidates I don't really like and come to the conclusion on which one to support. (I ranked Mamdani and not Cuomo - everyone knew it was those two.) Sadly, this basic skill isn't a total given among left of center.
The coin flip is horse shit, exhibit 243. Also, this is pioneer, not legacy where the coin flip is the difference between normality and dying with TS in hand, or getting blocked by moon/chalice. Where winning the game on your turn + coin flip = 50% more turns than opp.
I won the legacy LCQ with my only bullet! mtggoldfish.com/tournament/l… Didn't have time to play any showcases this season so this was a welcome break!
