If you take profits early because β€œit beats losing,” your anxiety may go away, but your success moves further away. Today I will explain the mechanism behind it. Many people take profits as soon as a trade moves even slightly into profit because they are afraid of losing it, but this behavior pulls you away from success. A strategy with an edge shows its edge only when you follow its rules properly. By entering according to your rules, exiting according to your rules, and repeating this, the win rate and risk-reward of that strategy are drawn out through the law of large numbers. If you take profits earlier than your rules say, the reward side of your risk-reward is cut short, and your risk-reward turns against you. Looking at the profit in front of you and thinking, β€œI don’t want to lose this,” is extremely short-term thinking. The more weight you put on the result of a single trade in front of you, the more consistency disappears from your actions. That is because short-term results are heavily affected by randomness. Your actions fall in sync with randomness, and you start putting β€œwhat I want right now” ahead of following the rules of the strategy with an edge you prepared in advance. Of course, you then cannot act consistently, and probability cannot work. You may think, β€œBut taking profits early has actually let me end trades with a profit instead of a loss.” Looking at single results, that does happen. But if you have prepared a strategy with an edge in advance, all you can do is trust its statistical edge and act on it. Even if that trade ends in a loss, a strategy with an edge is one built so that a profit remains in the end when you keep repeating its rules. You need to think much longer term. And the biggest reason this behavior is bad is that once you do it, you will always close the next trade with a small profit too. The next time a trade moves a little into profit, you think, β€œIt beats losing it,” and end the trade with a small profit. The profit on every trade gets capped small by you, and your strategy turns into one with a very poor risk-reward. If seeing the amount makes you think, β€œI don’t want to lose this,” hide your P&L on the chart. You do not need to watch the chart all the time. If your strategy sets a take profit, close the chart and do something else until either your stop loss or your take profit is hit. If you use a trailing stop or something similar and need to check the chart from time to time, work out how long it takes for a few candles to form, and stay away from the chart until then. These are just examples, but think about ways that help you stay consistent. Unless you can put following your rules ahead of the result in front of you, trading will not work for you. Following your rules is the only path to profit.

It took me way too long to understand liquidity I'll explain it in 2 minutes ‡️ βšͺ️ Liquidity is just orders sitting in the market And most of them sit in the same places βšͺ️ Above every obvious high: sellers' stop losses and breakout buyers Below every obvious low: the opposite βšͺ️ Price is drawn to those places Because that's where big orders can get filled That's why price sweeps a high right before it drops It's not "manipulating you". It's collecting orders 3 things that changed how I trade it: 1. A low that swept liquidity before breaking structure is strong. Expect it to hold 2. A low that didn't is weak. Expect it to get taken 3. Internal liquidity taken, expect continuation External liquidity taken, expect a pullback or reversal Once you see it, you can't unsee it Price stops looking random Which part took you the longest to get ? Save this πŸ“š

Beyond all the noise on social media, the comparisons, the competition and everything else that comes with the trading space, I hope you never forget why you started in the first place ?? We all got into trading for one reason. To build better lives for ourselves. To become financially independent, take care of our families, afford the things we once dreamed of and create opportunities that weren’t available to us before. Deep down, everyone just wants to get it right. Trust me, I know this. Nobody started this journey hoping to spend years struggling, losing money or questioning whether things would ever work out. And sometimes, with everything happening around us, it’s easy to lose sight of that original dream. I genuinely hope that someday, all the hours you’ve spent studying, the sacrifices you’ve made and the effort you’ve put into becoming a better trader finally pay off. I hope this skill gives you the life you once imagined when you first discovered it. There’s enough room for all of us to succeed. I’m rooting for everyone. πŸ’œ

THE TRUTH‼️ If you can learn to keep your word in everything you do, you will be surprised by how much you can achieve as a trader. You already know how to trade, You understand your system. You can explain your setups and teach other people with confidence. But when it’s time to keep the promises you make to yourself, you fall short. You promise to respect your risk, but you break the rules.
You promise not to chase trades, but you chase them.
You promise to accept losses, but you revenge trade. This is where you keep holding yourself back. You cannot build consistency in the market while constantly breaking the rules you set for yourself. You have another year ahead of you. What you make of it depends largely on the decisions you make and the habits you build. Will you finally change, or will you spend another year running in the same circles? You don't need another promise. You need to start keeping the ones you've already made to yourself.
