"A challenge companies, including banks, are now having, is they are getting a tsunami of bots coming to their platforms. It used to be hard to know what was a human vs. a bot. Now it's even harder."
@tiagosada discusses why we need @world_id for agents on @MTSlive
As visually impressive as it is. It's underwhelming.
AI video is great when it creates unique visuals and styles we've never seen before, but when it tries to replicate human realism, it falls short into the uncanny valley.
They would've been better off reimagining The Odyssey in a unconventional visual style rather than trying to imitate live action filmmaking.
Watch Episode 1 of our Odyssey series made with Grok Imagine.
Let us know in the comments if you'd like a full breakdown of how it was done!

We started with a single agent, then moved to multi agents to do work
but as models continue to exponentially improve, one agent with parallel context and tool access might be all you need
Crazy how fast things can change in this space and make existing products obsolete month by month

I agree a lot with this post and aligns with realizations I faced
Seeing all the recent releases of consumer AI converging to the same features, and I too went down the path of attempting to build similar personal AI and did not find PMF,
- Most of the web is already highly optimized for consumer UX, passing the task to an agent just becomes an unnecessary middleman for most things
- Consumers want to consume, browsing, window shopping, trip planning is a process they enjoy, not something they want to save time from
- Conversing with an AI is high effort, normal people want to passively consume content in their free time and you’re already competing for attention with social apps, which an AI “friend” can’t compete with on long term entertainment value.
Seems we’re all approaching consumer AI wrong while building the same thing over and over
Rant that no one asked for:
My general take about consumer AI is that 99% of the things we've seen so far are super far-removed from reality
Most people feel like they don't have money to spend right now, so the use-cases around agents booking flights or trips or booking reservations or shopping just don't appeal to the average American consumer
I would argue that things that consumers purchase or "do" frequently enough (like ordering on Amazon, or calling Ubers, etc.) were obvious/annoying enough/frequent enough use-cases where we built amazing software UI/UX over the last decade that's been optimized to near ultimate efficiency that adding AI or agents on top would actually be making it *less* efficient. Like really *worth-it* use cases are generally "one-clickable" by great consumer products/platforms already
There's a lot of magical moments/wow factors/sci-fi things with agents that come from super annoying workflows (like booking flights or wrangling personal errand stuff in gmail or etc.) but are just not frequent enough for the average person. They're actually the long-tail. For example, 20% of the world's population has flown on an airplane at least once in their lifetime, meaning 80% of people globally have never set foot on a plane. Only 11%-15% of the global population flies in any given year!
This is not me saying that consumer AI is dumb, I'm actually extremely excited and optimistic, but it kind of goes back to things we've always known about consumer, which is:
1. Save/make consumers money
2. Make consumers entertained or famous
(And, of course, vices)
Even like, regardless of your views on prediction markets/sports betting, I think you have to understand that comes from a place of the average person feeling like they 1) don't have enough so 2) they want to do what they can to jump the socioeconomic rungs
Anyway, there's an extremely *wide* space of opportunity and I'm very excited to see the absolutely insane new AI/innovative stuff that builders come up with, but also I really want to see things that aren't just dressed up versions of 2010s prosumer/productivity software (and the problems that came with it)
P.S. The 90/10/1 rule still applies to consumer: most consumers want to *consume* (and lurk) rather than create!
With every personal AI converging into the same features and functions, the only way to differentiate is the design and the founder
based on those two criteria, @wabi is the best one out.
Wabi 2.0 is live!
personal agents are one person, one chat. but the parts of life that matter run on more than one person
Wabi is an agent you use together. you talk to it, it does stuff, builds the apps you need, and anyone can join the thread - your partner, your best friend, the preschool moms groupchat
school changes pickup time → Wabi updates the family calendar, everyone sees it.
a show you’d both love → Wabi finds a night that works, gets the tickets.
the trip everyone keeps talking about → Wabi picks the dates, builds the itinerary, books it
go start a thread with your people 👇
The most asymmetric bet in crypto right now is $WLD.
1. AI infra no one else is building
As AI makes it increasingly difficult to distinguish humans from machines, proof of human becomes critical infrastructure. World is building the products and infrastructure to solve this.
2. No category competitors
Unlike other tokens that compete for mindshare and capital in their categories e.g. $HYPE vs $LIT vs $AERO or $ZEC vs $XMR, $WLD is in a category by itself.
3. Mainstream distribution advantage
World’s association with Sam Altman and OpenAI gives them more mainstream opportunities no other project has for institutional partnerships from Zoom integration to large banks.
If proof of human becomes a foundational layer in the age of AI, $WLD could have enormous upside.
In 2024, an employee at engineering firm Arup transferred $25.6 million after joining a video call where every other participant was a deepfake. Since then, AI has advanced significantly and is making impersonation increasingly convincing, causing challenges for financial institutions in particular. As autonomous agents begin handling more financial activity on behalf of people, establishing an added layer of trust and security behind a transaction or sensitive conversation is becoming an urgent need.
Introducing @world_id for banking and finance, a suite of technologies that helps institutions establish trust through privacy-preserving cryptographic Proofs. World ID for Zoom lets meeting participants confirm they are the same Orb-verified human connected to their account, while World ID for agents allows AI agents to carry Proofs delegated by people. Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital, and VanEck Funds are initial design partners, bringing World ID into some of finance's most consequential interactions.

The @Tesla roadster design is more like architecture than traditional automotive design.
I’m obsessed with the rear quarter panel, the surface curves naturally into an angular edge reminds me of the Frank Gehry concert hall.
Amazing work @woodhaus2
. @papertrade_xyz is one of the best crypto products released to date
It's a great degen alternative to memecoins, no counterparty risk with devs or cabals, 1000x trading is fun and at least you get paid out in paper tokens instead of your pnl slowly bleed out to zero
Papertrade (@papertrade_xyz)'s revenue has far surpassed Hyperliquid's, and it now ranks third with $6.01M in 24H revenue.
Interestingly, #papertrade's daily trading volume reached a staggering $910B, with $28.4B in liquidation volume.

Those trying to debate the death of software are not looking far ahead enough and are not accounting for the exponential rate of improvement of these models.
The argument we still go to restaurants or coffee shops even though we have the tools to make it at home is the wrong framing
In software, AI is not like a cooking appliance, it can be compared more to a private chef
If you had a private chef, you would not go out to restaurants as often.
As far as prompting, models are getting so good, users won't even need to prompt, your personal AI will suggest making an application autonomously when chatting with it and it already understands and knows your personality and history.
Below is a baccarat app built by ChatGPT in less than a minute, good enough to replace all the existing apps on the app store
part 2 of "software is taking off"
many people argued - now that everyone will just have their agent build whatever they need, software businesses will no longer be able to make money, hence "software is dead"
i'm here to show you why that's wrong, by exploring what happened to major technological transformations in the past
fig 1. microwave vs restaurants
in the 1980s, the adoption of microwave in households started to explode. it allowed pretty much anyone to cook a simple meal for themselves in a matter of minutes
many predicted that the restaurant businesses will collapse because why pay for expensive restaurant dining when it's so easy to make food at home
now with the benefit of hindsight, we can see the adoption of microwave did not slow down restaurant business growth AT ALL - not by a single bit
fig 2. espresso machines vs coffee shops
similarly to the above, espresso machines gained significant adoption since 2000
intuitively, every cup of coffee people make at home is a few dollars the coffee shops would lose, so the growth of espresso machines and coffee shops should go in opposite direction
but they did not. they both grew at the same time
fig 3. iphone camera vs photographers
when everyone has a camera in their pocket all the time, it would surely put photographers out of their jobs, right? ...right?
counter to many people's intuition, employment of professional photographers remained stable after iphone adoption exploded in the 2010s
there was a little dip due to COVID, but it's recovered since, and overall it even grew slightly since 2000
fig 4. tiktok vs streaming
short form videos absolutely exploded in growth since its introduction. tiktok allowed pretty much everyone to easily create entertaining videos others can watch
as the incumbent entertainment video format, TVs and movies would totally take a massive hit, right?
but no it didn't
how?? all these industries got democratized by technology and became accessible to a much larger number of people, why won't they just die, like the hype trains said they would?
you see -
people go to coffee shops and restaurants to be lazy, to be serviced, to socialize, to celebrate. you can't do any of that with a microwave and espresso machine at home
people hire photographers for their wedding because it's a special day and they want the beautifully captured memory to stand out in their album. using a phone is the opposite of special
people watch tv shows and movies to enjoy a well crafted story, feel moved, touched, and sometimes to share some emotion and bond with others. tiktok scrolling does not give them that at all
when technology is democratized and made accessible to the general public, they tend to be used to create a different set of things, not a replacement to the existing professional business
go to your phone settings and take a look at the apps where you spent the most time. for me, that's X, discord, wechat, whatsapp, youtube, youtube music, tiktok
your agent can't create a replacement for any single one of them. look at yours and ask yourself which one would you bother to vibe code?
what regular people will create with AI is going to be an exciting set of new things. things that never existed before, that would open up new markets and be net new to the economy. things that are way more interesting than "you built your kanban board, and i did one too"
Updating the design with cyber truck like angles compared to the softer curves of the original design was a great design choice.
They figured out their signature design language similar to Apple as it matured.
Yes. We just saw a car do a double barrel roll and land perfectly and people who think they are smarter than they actually are believe they know physics better than the guy who’s launching rockets.
Sometimes you need to see a glimpse of the future before it’s built
He had the vision close to a decade ago wtf lmao

Replying to @MKBHD
I’m not. Will use SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the 2 rear seats.
