ALT This graphic says "It's New Exoplanet Day! Find all the exoplanets at the NASA Exoplanet Archive. New planets and their data added semi-weekly. exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu." The image has a blue background with a cartoonish star field along the top third, and a drawing of a ringed exoplanet that resembles Jupiter.
If you're at #ukexom and want to come talk to me about a new, very cool😎 (and actually very cool❄️) Neptune-like exoplanet orbiting a thick disk M dwarf, come find me at poster 78! Here's a sneak peak🪐
We went straight from #exoplanets5 to Taylor Swift in Wembley💪🏼 an amazing way to end an already amazing week!

Anyone at #exoplanets5 ever panicked writing a transit proposal re: how long an exposure *should* be? There are 👍/👎 for both longer/shorter exp so it’s fair to be confused… if you want to learn, find me in poster area A (downstairs) all day Thu!
Explanation thread w/ gifs ⬇️
📢Exoplanet observers!🪐 Have you ever wondered which is better: taking lots of short exposures across a transit, or fewer long exposures?
My new (1st-1st-author!) paper explores exactly this & what the best strategy is – because yes, it matters! arxiv.org/abs/2312.08320

At my third, and maybe favourite #UKEXOM, I was very grateful to receive this cute crocheted bison for the student poster prize. Thank you for a wonderful meeting @ukexom2024 (please could you tell me which name bison I have😄)
