What I’ve gone through at Regional events is part of a bigger problem in this community. I’ve been openly sexually assaulted twice in crowds at Regional events. I’ve had top players take photos of me from behind while I was talking to others or bending down (yes, I saw you). I’ve even had my entire deck case stolen from beneath me during a match at Indianapolis Regionals. Sometimes, the very people you look up to or believe are your allies - are not allies at all. I’m someone who is very visible in this community. And even with that, I’ve been targeted. Being “known” does not make you safe, just like being “unknown” does not make you invisible. This is a real issue. It happens across the board. And as much as people express outrage when stories like this surface, there is often just as much, (if not more) concealment when it happens in the first place.
