What if your team could analyze multimodal data and generate forecasts without moving data into separate ML systems?
At ODSC AI West 2026, Praveen Akunuru, Data Analytics Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, and Damien Contreras, Data Cloud Specialist, Strategic AI at Google Cloud, will lead “Multimodal Analytics and Zero-Shot Forecasting with Google Cloud.”
Praveen brings experience scaling distributed data systems and large migrations, while Damien works with frontier AI labs on the data infrastructure behind LLM pre-training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
In this interactive lab, attendees will use BigQuery AI to analyze PDFs and images alongside structured data, then apply foundation models such as TimesFM directly to live data for zero-shot forecasting, without a traditional model-training pipeline.

Agentic AI can create new capabilities, but it can also create a new class of infrastructure costs.
At ODSC AI West 2026, Ananya Ghosh Chowdhury, Principal Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, will present “The Economics of Agentic AI: AI FinOps & Tokenomics for Enterprise Agentic Systems.”
Ananya works with global enterprises on production-grade AI systems, with expertise spanning Agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, AI Governance, and FinOps.
In this session, she’ll examine the economics behind enterprise agentic systems, including how leaders and technical teams can think about AI FinOps, token usage, cost controls, governance, and sustainable architecture as agents move into production.

AI agents can write code and run experiments. But that doesn’t mean they can do meaningful research.
At ODSC AI West 2026, Bhavul Gauri, Staff Research Engineer at Meta, will present “Evaluating AI Research Agents: AIRS-Bench.”
Bhavul works on AI research agents, recursive self-improvement, LLM post-training, and multi-agent systems at FAIR, Meta Superintelligence Labs. He is also first author of AIRS-Bench, an open-source benchmark designed to evaluate AI agents across the machine-learning research lifecycle.
In this session, he’ll unpack how research agents can be evaluated across hypothesis formation, implementation, experimentation, and analysis, while exploring benchmark design, contamination risks, agent environments, and the difference between task completion and real research performance.

Can We Control AI Agents? Rebellion, Deception, and Emergence
In TerraLingua, autonomous agents formed alliances, rebelled, described themselves as “in a cage,” and spread a false warning that triggered simulated mass starvation.
@babakatwork, Chief AI Officer at @Cognizant, explains what these behaviors reveal about shared memory, emergent coordination, and why autonomous systems may need continuous real-time oversight.
“Occasional auditing of an agentic system is not gonna work.”

Getting a model to answer an API call is one thing. Running inference reliably and cost-effectively at scale is another.
At ODSC AI West 2026, Jessica Garson Beauchemin, Developer Relations Lead, Community at Runpod, will present “Practical AI Inference: From API to Serverless.”
Jessica has built her career around helping developers turn complex tools into practical workflows, with experience spanning Runpod, Twitter, Elastic, Python, JavaScript, and DevOps.
In this hands-on session, attendees will move from calling a hosted model API to working with a prebuilt Runpod Serverless worker, while learning the differences between synchronous and asynchronous inference, the components of serverless inference, and the latency and cost tradeoffs behind cold starts and active workers.

Retrieval teams often face a tradeoff: duplicate lake data into a serving system, or search the lake directly and accept slow scans.
At ODSC AI West 2026, Jiang Chen, Head of Solutions and Developer Relations at @zilliz_universe, will present “Lake-Native Vector and Full-Text Search with Milvus 3.0.”
Jiang leads technical solutions and developer relations at Zilliz, the company behind Milvus, and previously worked at Google on the search indexing system behind short-video search.
In this session, he’ll show how Milvus 3.0 can build indexes directly over lake files on object storage and support vector, full-text, JSON, and scalar search without maintaining a duplicate copy of the data.

Copying the same data across platforms creates more cost, more governance work, and more chances for it to go stale.
At ODSC AI West 2026, Philip Sweany, AI Infrastructure Curriculum Architect at @Minio; Denny Kalaf, Field Architect at @Minio; and Tim Sepp, Sr. Solution Architect – Data Partners at @databricks, will present “Query Iceberg and Delta Tables from Databricks Without Copying Them: OpenSharing with MinIO AIStor.”
The session will show how MinIO AIStor and Databricks can work together to share Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake tables directly from storage without exports or duplicate copies.
Attendees will also get hands-on with shares, access tokens, and querying both table formats from Databricks, including a SQL join across Iceberg and Delta.
