Two Palestinian infants, six-month-old Aseel Ibrahim Abu Suhaiban and four-month-old Habiba Mohammed Zannoun, died after a fire broke out in their tent in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza.
As winter approaches, displaced families are facing increasingly dangerous living conditions, with worn-out and torn tents offering little protection against freezing temperatures, heavy rainfall and flooding.
Overcrowding, unsafe cooking and heating methods, and severe shortages of food, clean water and medical supplies further compound their suffering.
With little protection from harsh weather conditions, displaced Palestinians remain exposed to life-threatening risks amid Israel's ongoing assault, continued forced displacement and widespread destruction across the Gaza Strip.
