Spent all week with 37 Claude agents grinding in parallel, 18 hours a day, until they fully reverse engineered @expo.
sharing the results so you don’t have to burn the tokens. 100% free and open-source:

We just shipped an updated T3 Code Stable release with over 1,400 changes 🤯
Quick highlight reel of my favorites:
- Massive perf wins on desktop and mobile
- Add a project to another machine from the "Run on" menu
- EAS Simulator remote hosts for iOS dev
- PR diffs now show code vs tests vs docs at a glance
- Idle Claude threads compact early so the cache stays warm (beta)
- Mobile got a big native pass. It finally feels native
- `t3 doctor` can reclaim database space
- `t3 connect` now checks your machine is reachable, and errors say how to fix them
- Webhook tasks got filters and dedupe
- Skill discovery is much more reliable
- Tons of Windows, terminal, and scroll fixes
Least favorite: I caved, LaTeX renders on web and mobile
Also heads up, we're getting a bit more experimental with how we treat Nightly, so now would be a good time to move back to stable :)
Let us know if anything's hard to do when adapting your app for iPhone Duo in SDK 58!
- Expo Router and UI get you 90% there
- You may need extra SafeAreaViews for custom content
- Do test the split left layout!
shouting into the void here, I guess…
but if you look at this and think it's time to dunk on this, think again:
a huge chunk of teams choose to use Electron. by miles. the cheat sheet to this tweet is simply, there's more viable options than just Electron.
SDK 58 is out 🙌
This SDK is built for iOS 27. Apps on SDK 58 will be ready for Duo on day one 📖.
The release also includes App Intents for Siri, 2x faster clean Android builds, faster Expo modules, and a CLI built for your coding agent.

playing around with Grok @bot has been a lot of fun recently 🤩 feels like it's been improving by leaps and bounds
I've let it make a bot template for @expo apps with all our skills and integrations (simulators, ad-hoc dev builds, launch, tunnels, etc ❤️)

Git Merge 2026 is wrapping up today! I'm not in Lisbon myself, but I made something for the occasion.
Introducing: 🗺️ Git Atlas - an interactive guide through Git features across Git releases over the years.
It allows you to investigate the evolution of this beloved tool. Git is 21 years old this year and still kicking - it's still at the core of software engineering.

expo-device-hub, new from @expo, turns your browser into a local device dashboard 📱
- live stream of every iOS sim + Android emulator
- tap, swipe, scroll, type in the page
- boot and shut down without Xcode or Android Studio
- flip dark mode, and more
bun expo install expo-device-hub, then bun expo start. The link prints in your terminal :)
Observe is #6 today on Product Hunt! We're very excited about the feedback we're getting from Observe users.

Today was my last day at Meta - 5 years with the React team has been incredible.
Tomorrow is my first day at @expo - so excited to be putting 100% into building for the builders. Onward! 🚀
"#UXDesign is my passion" ahh vibe
Celebrating small wins is hardwired into "Achieve," our goal-tracking sample app.
We wanted the simple act of checking off a task to feel like a celebration. Instead of the standard #Material ripple, we used Styles to drop in a custom, high-contrast completion animation—specifically, a brand-colored ring that expands and fades on tap, paired with a subtle pressed-state gradient.
It lets us focus entirely on polishing those custom, rewarding micro-interactions while Material handles the foundation.

Got any cool UI demos you'd like to be featured on our demos page? Let us know! Love seeing all the cool ideas Expo devs come up with 😍
If your app feels premium you're going to hold onto users.
That's an easy thing to say and a more difficult thing to do. Which is why we've started gathering all the best, more beautiful open source demos from our community.
Talented people like @reactiive_, @hewad_mubariz, @_philpl, @nater02, @S0LARIN, @rit3zh, @iamarunabh are sharing their code on this page: expo.dev/demos
Check it out and let us know who's work we need to add to the page.
