Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan reportedly got a dressing-down from Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro after allegedly raising his voice during their closed-door meeting on October 19, Politiko learned.
An Iskooper familiar with the meeting said tensions flared when Jing raised his voice and appeared to tell Lazaro what to do.
But the country’s top diplomat was having none of it.
“Lazaro supposedly told Jing to ‘talk in a nice way,’” the Iskooper told Politiko.
