Stepped into the office with hopes for a good day, but it turned out to be nothing short of extraordinary.
Made my radio debut today, and every moment was an amazing experience 📻❤️
Thank you @janetquayson_ @chrystalkaryee @malisecullen @YawsonGeorge3 @3fm927
Why are you drawing a link between crowd size and show quality? If reports say Stonebwoy sold all 12K tickets and the show was wack, then it was wack. Let’s not make it seem as though a good show is simply one that had a lot of people in attendance.
Remember Sarkodie’s response when he was asked whether he could fill the O2? “If you don’t fill it, you don’t fill it.” Simple.
Whether Stonebwoy sold 1 ticket or 3,000 tickets, did he put on a good show? Yes.
If people decide to use these facts as an avenue to troll Stonebwoy or any other artiste, that’s not the fault of the artiste or the people reporting the figures. We need to learn to separate conversations about commercial performance from conversations about the quality of a performance.
Just imagine being in an industry like Ghana’s, where artists have to work 10 times harder to break into certain markets and earn the opportunity to perform on some of the biggest stages in the world. Instead of encouraging that ambition and having meaningful conversations about their achievements, we now have pages publishing figures that people are using to ridicule artists, even when the methodology behind those figures hasn’t been made clear.
Let me ask @TuneStats a simple question: What exactly is the purpose of this statistic?
Is it to provide transparent, reliable industry data that helps us understand how our artists are performing, or is it simply going to become another tool for people to mock artists who are attempting something extraordinary?
Who asked for this particular statistic, and what context are you giving the public to interpret it correctly?
Imagine the work Sarkodie is putting into organising a show at the O2 Arena. Think about the investment, planning, risk and courage it takes for a Ghanaian artist to attempt a venue of that scale. Now imagine a page publishing figures without enough context, people immediately declaring the show a failure, and social media turning the whole thing into mockery instead of recognising the ambition behind the attempt.
That doesn’t mean we should hide poor performances or manufacture success stories for our artists. We need honest reporting, but honest reporting must also be transparent, properly sourced and presented with the right context.
@TuneStats, tagging @TouringData is not the end of the conversation. Explain how these figures were obtained. Tell us whether they represent verified final ticket sales or estimates, how the stated capacity was determined, and what evidence supports the revenue figure.
Because these numbers are now being used to draw conclusions about an artist’s performance, the public deserves to understand exactly what they mean.
Ghana’s music industry needs credible data, constructive criticism and accountability. It doesn’t need statistics that people can misinterpret and weaponise against artists who are trying to take Ghanaian music to the world.
@TuneStats, we’re challenging the figures, not asking you to protect any artist. If your data is accurate, substantiate it. Show us the evidence, explain the methodology and give us the full context. We’re not accepting numbers at face value simply because a verified page posted them.
Let’s have a proper conversation about the data and its implications for our industry. Make it make sense.
Bra Kwame akasa!
.@stonebwoy ‘s GH¢100,000 donation to the national amputee football team is worth commending. But agenda boys and girls roping in the @sarkodie amputee video issue douses the effectiveness of the whole campaign!
The night of KiDi’s London show, the Black Stars played Côte d’Ivoire. I remember posting, “Choose wisely, KiDi or Ghana Blackstars.”
It wasn’t to spite football lovers. It’s just become increasingly difficult to see Ghana football as a source of pride when our music is taking us global, with far less support. This isn’t to say the music industry has no challenges of its own, but there’s something to be said about an industry finding ways to put Ghana on the global map while our football continues to leave so many of us disappointed.
The relevant bodies need to get their act together before we lose even more ground.
You’ve been very consistent with your approach to going after Sarkodie. You may or may not have a legitimate case; I can’t tell. But one thing I know for sure is that X won’t get you your royalties. If you have a grievance of this nature, pursue it through the appropriate legal channels. All the best. ✌🏾
Next stop Nigeria to drop my royalty check right?? @sarkodie pay this royalty make everybody rest. OG, that was my first major seed don't hold it back 💔😭
This was a really good conversation. I particularly resonated with the part about the new generation revisiting the stories of the OGs. It puts a lot of things into better perspective.
I’ve watched interviews of people I really look up to in this industry, and I know their stories by heart: Sarkodie, Yaw Ofosu, Olele Salvador, Kwame Dadzie, Zionfelix and Kwadwo Sheldon, to mention a few. I’ve also been privileged to meet some of them in person, and whenever we meet, there’s always so much knowledge to take away. Their experiences and perspectives have genuinely influenced how I navigate this space.
Really great conversation. Big thanks to @Hammer_nti and his boys for this one. 🙏🏾

Information reaching me is that some people approached parents of children allegedly sexually assaulted by the Obuasi SHS headmaster, promising to sponsor their children’s education through university if they dropped the cases because Zakaria was a political leader who would be disgraced if the matter became public.
Let that sink in. A child’s alleged abuse, traded for university fees?
If true, this is beyond disturbing. No child’s dignity should be bargained away, and justice must never be for sale.
The allegations must be investigated and the pursuit of justice must continue.
