I don't think them refusing to unlock their phones would have changed the outcome here - they just would have been fired for refusing to cooperate instead?

On glosso, the higher someone scores in the Internet IQ test, the more likely they are to make it public:

This Internet IQ test is different. It gives you an IQ result, but scored against the other very-online nerds who took that same IQ test. If you're 50th percentile among the other nerds, then you your IQ is 100. I got 118. What'd you score?

All of the other items are alignment research from Anthropic!

It links to OpenAI's blog post: openai.com/index/hugging-fac… I assume this part of the public benefit report is just vibed up?? Because like 1. This is an example of a public *harm* not a benefit 2. Anthropic's biggest competitor did it, not Anthropic

the Anthropic public benefit report includes the OpenAI HF incident under the "The technical problems of AI safety are solved" pillar as if it was alignment research from Anthropic????

although I probably could've stayed at a hotel with an ageist policy anyways, I think some of them are only there to be selectively enforced against annoying people and they'd be fine with because I'm cool and have a Canadian passport

it was annoying having to call a few hotels and ask what the policy was

the employee donation match is directed to a 501c3 of the employee's choice, not the PBF (the PBF *can't* get employee donation matches if it wanted because it's not a 501c3)

like it would be fine if the audited me. because I'm perfect, and my tax return is completely accurate. but it would be annoying

But really the CRA shouldn't title the emails about now OTHER PEOPLE are going to prison with "Enforcement notification"! that makes it sound like you're notifying me that you're enforcing something against me!

in Canada you can sign up to an email list from the government with news about tax enforcement, and now whenever someone goes to prison for tax fraud I get jumpscared until I realize it's just the email list and they're not auditing me

whenever I have Claude review my lesswrong posts, it constantly analyzes it through the lens of making sure I pander to hypothetical pedants in the comments. but in reality the hyperpedants Claude cares about so much don't exist!

Presumably Claude code uses thinking:"updates" which makes the API rewrite short text between tool calls and pretend it's thinking
