Free speech must always be defended to the fullest. Those who seek to silence competing ideas invariably do so under the pretext of protecting the public from dangerous misinformation. But they are the ones endangering the public by imposing their own biases on all of society.

There is nothing remarkable about being against disinformation. Everyone is against it in almost every context. It can be dangerous. But more dangerous by far to our lives is the government’s dictating what constitutes disinformation—what’s true or false, valid or invalid speech.
