I want to get $HOODIE listed in the main Robinhood app asap so that my non-crypto friends with Robinhood accounts can get in as early as possible. People who are new to crypto shouldn’t just be exit liquidity for the trenchers. That’s not fun. If regular people can have easy access to a token before it hits $1M rather than after it crosses $100M, they may actually have a shot at that generational return that keeps trenchers in the game. It’s this game, the high-risk / high-reward effort to find the next big winner, that has onboarded millions onchain in the last few years, and can continue to onboard many more. It’s hard to onboard people all the way into crypto in one fell swoop. It more often happens in stages. First, someone has a positive experience with owning an onchain asset in a custodial app like Robinhood. Then, they may be more willing to try a simple onchain app like Robinhood Wallet. After that, they may become interested in trying more novel onchain apps like those being built on Robinhood Chain. My friends want to hold some $HOODIE but they don’t want to have to get a new app and make a new account and fund that new account just to do it. That’s friction. I want to meet them where they are (in the Robinhood app) with an onchain asset they can access early and then, over time, I think there are much better odds I can onboard them all the way onchain.
