India has 57 Central Universities. 55 are secular.
AMU and Jamia got Muslim communal status under Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Last year, central govt fully funded these two with Rs 2,100 crore.
No Central Universities for Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, Jains...
ECI went all guns blazing in the Supreme Court:
1. SIR decisions were unanimous, not unilateral.
2. No voter can be added or deleted without an ERO’s order.
3. Form 6 was never amended; the online display issue is being corrected.
4. ECI says the petition rests entirely on a single newspaper report.
The entire Vote Chori narrative, built on a newspaper report, is now being used to manufacture chaos in our country…

Source: I get inbounds asking for pointers for strong FDE hires or strong AI infra hires every now and then, even though I don't keep tabs on this.
Suggest lennysjobs.com by @lennysan as a good collection of roles currently hiring

You are telling me that the company with the largest IPO this year earns majority of their data center revenue from the company with the second largest IPO this year

Claude can no longer “Reverse Engineer Anything.”
Anthropic just quietly killed REA.
But Interesting timing.
After a few viral cases of people using Claude to reverse-engineer Samsung TV firmware and identify data-collection services, Anthropic appears to have restricted those reverse-engineering abilities.
WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was.
Got a root shell.
then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

We made the first AI model you can have a realistic conversation with that was trained entirely on speech!
Dessa is a full-duplex speech-to-speech model that you can run on consumer GPUs.
This is a GPT3 moment for speech.

❗️ Samsung and Vizio smart TVs kept contacting the servers that track what you watch after users opted out, Northeastern University researchers found.
On Vizio the opt-out had no visible effect, even with the TV idle.

A new source of BTC demand is emerging.
BTC-focused perpetual preferred stocks have accumulated more than 135,000 BTC in just over a year, despite representing only a fraction of the global fixed income market.
What could happen if adoption expands?

Most decaf coffee is made with methylene chloride. It's the solvent that used to be in paint stripper.
The green beans are steamed, then washed in methylene chloride, which pulls out the caffeine and not much else. The beans are steamed again to drive off the solvent and then roasted at over 400F. FDA allows up to 10 parts per million. When a lab tested 24 decaf brands in 2020 it found the solvent in 10 of them at about 0.05 to 0.1 ppm, around 100 times below the limit. The industry calls this the European method.
There are 3 other ways to do it. Ethyl acetate, a solvent that can be made from sugarcane, which the trade calls the natural method. Carbon dioxide under pressure. And the Swiss Water process, which uses hot water and carbon filters and no solvent at all. Peet's says all of its decaf is water process. Starbucks has told reporters most of its decaf is the direct contact method, meaning solvent.
EPA banned most uses of methylene chloride in 2024, but food is FDA's job, so decaf wasn't part of it. A petition to pull it from food has sat at FDA since December 2023. FDA reopened comments on it in May and hasn't decided. If the bag says Swiss Water or water process, no solvent touched it. If the bag says nothing, you don't know.

This may be the first major CA incident both discovered by an AI agent (the reporter Wayne's discovery path hints at it) and confirmed via agents recovering keys with a single prompt.

Claude figured out how the curve parameters for ECDSA were chosen
ECDSA is an algorithm for creating and verifying digital signatures using elliptic curves. You might know its older more well known sibling DSA.
In the late 1990s, the NSA supplied the seeds behind these curves used for ECDSA with no explanation of where they came from
turns out they're just output from a basic random number generator, seeded with a timestamp
