It feels weird to say this, because a decade ago I think I would've been in the opposite camp, but today I look around and people seem to take for granted that a remake "should" only ever align with the original's goals, and I'm just like "different decisions are valid too."

Only Four months left in 2026!
This year, we have fallen far short of our fundraising goal, making it difficult to maintain the dormitory.
We would be very grateful for your support.
Help us keep our doors open!
This is an animated message from one of this year’s new rookies!
Yup! Also one day gamers will learn the difference between grounded stylization and photorealism but until that time comes, this conversation will repeat over and over.

I think something I've learned over the last decade is that just because something is a creative choice that I wouldn't have personally made doesn't mean that choice is bad. I'm trying to look past my preferences and approach my analysis with curiosity before judgement.
Back in the day, people got their opinions from and regurgitated whatever their favorite YouTuber’s talking points were.
Imo the same is still true, except it’s just memes now. A lot of people’s genuine opinions on the world are just a collection of irony-poisoned memes.
It’s crazy how bombing hospitals was a war crime until Israel did it over and over again. Now it’s barely a news story.

Thanks for all the support for my sakuga Enhancer project! I pushed some significant changes today:
• Frame-accurate video viewer w/ step controls
• In-browser trimming + download (ffmpeg.wasm, no server)
• Collapsible comments
• Fixed episode selection
Anyways please stop hiring digital production companies for animation. They get all the projects simply because the people that own them are connected in the industry. Half the time they are hardly creatives, just former corporate or nepo babies who are out sourcing. They collect the project fund and hire the skilled people for ridiculously low
I would rather you ask an artist you know to help you find an artist or animator for your project

"Getting Nintendo would be a career moment" and a "good move for both companies", said Xbox boss Phil Spencer in emails from 2020, according to recent FTC court documents.
