If Bill Atkinson were still alive this year, no one would’ve accidentally started a mini design movement.
coding is getting commoditized.
anyone with a bit of curiosity can ship something now.
as a result, more devs are building. more designers are entering the game too.
but most of them still miss the basics of user experience design.
so here's what i'm gonna do:
i’ll drop tips. not the usual fluff you've seen recycled on twitter.
real tricks.
stuff that helps solo devs make things that actually feel good to use.
not just "works", but clicks.
I really miss the Apollo app (Reddit client). It was one of those rare apps that truly understood Apple’s design language and nailed it year after year. I wish it were still around so I could see how it would pull off liquid glass.
I dunno babe, maybe my job today was just to play matchmaker between two random Americans (my favorite designer and my favorite artist) 🤷♂️
if you do what everyone does, you get what everyone gets. If you want different results, you have to diverge.
you’ve probably seen this before:
you’re chatting with someone, and it says “is typing…” for a while. but then they just send one word.
were they actually typing? or did they just leave the chat open?
i built a prototype to fix that. the idea’s simple:
if the person is actually typing, the other side sees a little keyboard icon actively animating.
if they just have the chat open but aren’t typing, the icon stays inactive.

lately i've been using @jittervideo a lot for motion graphics.
but there's one thing that really bugs me. it just doesn’t support Persian or Arabic text (RTL langs).
did some digging and found a workaround. so i built a little app (vibe coded it on @v0 ) that lets you use Persian and Arabic inside jitter without hassle.
(the video shows how it works. you can grab the app from the link in the replies)
i’ve been following this app for a while. love everything about it.
today, i posted a screenshot of it on my alt (the one where i write in everyday persian).
surprisingly, it blew up.
hope that counts as doing my part in honoring such a beautiful piece of design.
