Listen, if you don’t know what LLMs are & attribute “stochastic parrots” to something else? That’s not my issue.
I wrote a paper about diffusion models & don’t call them “stochastic parrots” eg.
If you’re unscientific & unspecific in what you talk about, that’s not my issue.
New Paper Alert!
The concept of heuristics in computer science was influenced by the work of Herbert Simon and Allen Newell, which stemmed from a model of "bounded rationality," which recognizes the cognitive limitations of individuals rather than assuming perfect rationality.
Our paper proposes a heuristic based on local cues to estimate the network (harmonic) centrality of nodes. We demonstrate that this method achieves high accuracy in scale-free networks (the environment), and show how its performance deteriorates in other network structures.
Research led by recent Ph.D. graduate Francisco Plana.

New preprint! Leveraging language modeling and deep learning on vast food data, our new model, MINT (Menu Item to NutrienT) predicts restaurant nutrition from menus alone. 🍽️

Social networks emerge in a decentralized manner: What are individuals optimizing from a centralized point of view? We develop a network optimization model inspired by food-sharing dynamics, focusing on two drivers:reducing individual starvation risk and promoting group welfare
Finding 3: Communities of cohesive network modules emerge in food-sharing networks that optimize both criteria. These communities arise in contexts of uncertainty and scarcity, showcasing their adaptive value.
