My PhD advisor received an email from a student who's been doing research for 8 months, and has *16 solo papers published* in 2026, almost all at real AI conferences, 1 paper at ICML.
All papers 100% flagged by Pangram (not reliable but a tell). The truth is academic AI research does not survive this. It has to reinvent itself fast.

🤖🍺 A UNSW research team has found that large language models can become more vulnerable to safety breaches when prompted or trained to imitate drunken behaviour.

The team tested several approaches, including simple role-play prompts and fine-tuning models on “drunk text” datasets, with the vulnerability appearing across methods.
The findings raise a bigger question for AI developers: can seemingly harmless personality changes quietly weaken safety controls?

#India: We regret fast passage of Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, without adequate stakeholder consultation. The amendments risk setting back hard-won rights of transgender people, replacing self-identification with mandatory medical verification processes.
India has been a pioneer for rights of transgender & gender-diverse people. This Bill will have far-reaching impacts on right to privacy & risk marginalisation of transgender people.
