Last night, the @joshabbottband put on an INCREDIBLE show at @rollertown!! Josh was wearing a @DoItForDurrett hat as he held a sizable crowd in the palm of his hand all night long. It was powerful and patriotic at times as they showed immense respect for first responders, was a party at times as they ramped up the vibes with some fun covers (including a rockin AC/DC classic), and was goosebump inducing at other points as they took their time with some of their biggest hits. And duuuuuude, they obviously have some BIG hits! And if you didn’t know, Josh is truly one of the good guys in entertainment. Family-first at every turn, with a huge heart to help others. And anyone who is buddies with @EmilyJonesMcCoy is obviously a tremendous person. That’s science. I met Josh some years back as he helped a friend of ours who was battling a terminal cancer. Josh rolled up his sleeves and helped our friend. Something I’ll never forget. It was at that time that he mistakenly gave me his phone number. lol. Over the years, we’ve traded many texts about the Mavs as he’s a diehard fan who is also a close friend of Donnie’s. Like the rest of us, he’s still mourning the Luka trade. Of course I took advantage of having his number to persistently recruit him to bring his band to Rollertown. :) And finally, the timing worked out!! Really meant a lot to our small business that he agreed to play our venue. Ticket sales on the day it was announced broke all our previous records and there was only a small handful of GA tickets available at walk up. The place was packed and the vibes were immaculate! But beyond the impressive turnout, he and his talented band delivered an incredibly memorable performance for everyone in attendance. What a show! Even had a cool, little breeze come through. All in all, the night was pretty damn perfect. From the bottom of my heart… Thank you, Josh. ✊🏼
