but im getting a lot of sinophobia from users saying let's stop hosting events in china or dimissing mone’s comments she made at 4cc. chinese fans are extremely sensitive about comments like this, especially coming from japanese athletes. they do not forget easily (2/3).
I think ppl who are defending Mone's comments Are missing the plot by bringing up WADA recs bc it's not only insulting Chinese food generally but also the fact that she was including venue specific food there....can we have some nuance please (booing was still unacceptable)
I’m just finding this so weird. Athletes in every other sport get booed for comments like that, and forever. Why is figure skating a sport until crowds act like it’s one. Are they only allowed to hate in fandom ways

Now that woke is back, I just want everyone who abruptly started using the r-word again 2 years ago to know I remember who you are and it will always define you in my mind
People called Medvedev the worst no. 1 ever lol
Alexander Zverev says he’s annoyed that he’s the only world No. 1 in history who has to explain why it’s ok for him to be world No. 1:
“I was a bit annoyed the last couple of days because achieving the world No. 1 status is something I think every player dreams of. But then, I feel like I’m the only world No. 1 in tennis history that has to explain why it’s ok for me to be world No. 1… which I find quite difficult. Because I deserve to be where I am. I don’t think anyone has to explain themselves as much as I had to do in the last couple of days.”

Zverev falls to 3-9 against top 10 players in 2026, by far the worst record of any year-end world No.1
