A lot of founders and builders probably over value the importance of Twitter. Even me. After all -- I met all my founder homies on here + have had many viral launches. But... 4-weeks ago -- instead of daily tweets, we started posting daily shorts. Hit 2M views + 100K profile visits -- our growth on short native platforms has been far surpassed our growth on X. For reference: We spent 1-year building another account on X to 40K followers, only to have reached that in 4 weeks on short form. Growth like that here is possible, but extremely difficult -- just a different algorithm/content type. These other platforms push audience to you, vs you pulling them. For those curious, yes -- the traffic does convert to LP and aren't just empty views. In fact, the traffic converts even better than Twitter (at least for us). A lot of people think short platforms are just braindead meme content. Yes -- some of it is braindead. But, a lot of it is not. I'm a power user of TikTok for example and my whole feed is full of everything from AI research paper reviews, to philosophy lessons. So, you can't just call it all useless. And because the user bases are larger you can find really interesting audiences you'd never find on X (ex. your average college student isn't on X). I think X is a really solid place to find startup/founder types or to find a niche audience in various domains (ex. indie hackers). And, finding a niche audience is extremely important in the early days -- so I think X will remain important and is worth growing on. So, you'll keep seeing me on here. Because: 1) I love writing. 2) I never wanna lose touch with the core, niche audience of builders that gave me my start. P.S: massive shoutout to @wordisbonz.
