This actually got me thinking. Why should Ubisoft remake any of the RPGs beyond enhancing their graphics and possibly adding new stories? (Like a full blown Rome expansion for Bayek in a hypothetical scenario.) The RPG ACs are modern as hell in terms of gameplay and design philosophy. Origins is still not outdated by any stretch of the word. In fact Black Flag Resynced brings the OG design philosophy closer to the recent games. So what are they going to enhance when it comes to Odyssey? The parkour? Okay, but where do I parkour in? In Athens with those wide streets and low rising buildings? Oh, they are going to have to redesign the cities? Fine, I like that. But then what happens to all the nature environments? They are going to add tons of tree parkour to them as well? Seems like an impossible task given the size of that game and how it treated parkour... The deeper you go in this, the less it sounds like a remake and it straight up becomes a full blown reimagination. I understand remaking the games prior to Black Flag and I believe AC1 should be the next game to receive that treatment, but the RPGs absolutely do not fit into that category.
