Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan is on it. She asks the real questions rather than blowing smoke. I had a teacher stop by today to discuss a kid in 3rd grader - significantly low, but he missed 25% of 1st grade and 60% of 2nd. 30 minutes of intervention isn't going to help that!
I get that, and I'm watching, but highlighting 4 schools that showed growth was not the presentation. Sounds like the successes should have been a separate presentation. The trustees are celebrating too much rather than focusing on how abysmal the scores are districtwide!
But the presentation wasn't focused on individual schools. They were giving info district wide. District wide, the data looks horrible.
I feel a but crazy. We're still significantly down in ELA and Math proficiency across all groups from pre-pandemic levels. Am I the only one who doesn't think the presentation is anything to celebrate?
The "one voice" guidance has proven to be ineffective. It makes you all seem complicit with the horrible/illegal things that have happened in the district lately.
