Five things that work by changing the room instead of changing you. Save this one. 1. Name the friction out loud, without the verdict. Say the task. "I cannot start unpacking the suitcase." Not "I am so lazy." A landmark 2007 study found that putting feelings into words lowered amygdala response and raised activity in a prefrontal region tied to regulation. That study labelled emotions in a scanner, not chores in a hallway, so the extension is mine. 2. Move one object to where the task actually happens. Cleaning supplies live under the sink, which is exactly where your brain cannot see them. Mine lives in the tub. 3. Put the people you keep meaning to text somewhere you physically walk past. Not an app. A photo, on the fridge. 4. Schedule the nothing. I pitched fifteen minutes a day from a stage in Austin. I am closer to an hour now. The length was never what mattered. Dropping the guilt was. 5. Redesign around the behaviour instead of correcting it. If the socks come off in the hallway every day, the hallway needs a basket. None of these require more discipline than you already have. That is the whole point. The research behind each one: thevibewithky.com/2026/08/05…

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump. Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

In the wake of the stunning news that Trump is planning to take over Columbia University, I hope you’ll watch this speech I gave yesterday. It details Trump’s plan to destroy democracy’s organs of accountability and dissent: the press, universities and lawyers. 1/ Intro

Oh yeah, this is a limitation on the power of pop art as social criticism, and - to be fair - the gutting of the humanities over the past few decades. See also: “sTaR wArS wAs NeVeR pOlItIcAl!” And the refusal to engage with people who actually know what they’re talking about.
The problem with relying purely on books like the Hunger Games to critique those in power is that men like Elon Musk read the hunger games and think they are Katniss Everdeen

Authoritarians thrive on confusion. They flood the public with executive orders that don’t change the law, contradictory messages that keep people disoriented, and fear-based propaganda to make you emotionally dependent on them for “truth.” This isn’t just politics, it’s psychological manipulation straight out of the authoritarian playbook. This is a key part of mind control tactics used by cult leaders and dictators alike. Swipe through to learn how confusion is being weaponized and, most importantly, how to protect your mind.

What our trauma conditioning insists we "have" to do in response to this jacked up feeling state may seem like the "easier" path in this difficult moment-- but we gotta remember, Trauma Brain's game plan NEVER results in ANYTHING being easier or better in the long term. Ever.

I’m tired of articles asking if I’m happy. Happy is overrated. I want to feel engaged! I want to feel excited about what’s to come! I want to feel bouncy and energetic! I want to feel loved and connected! And when I feel tired I want to feel like I’ve earned it.
