We’ve trained Claude to flag potential misuse in conversations, a technique we call self-assessment. Right after it responds, Claude gives a preliminary safety assessment of the conversation.
Since we began using self-assessment in June, it has surfaced misuse that our other safeguards weren’t designed to catch.
Because Claude has already read the conversation, self-assessment is very efficient. And unlike classifiers, which target a discrete set of harms, it draws on Claude’s own judgment, so it gets more accurate as our models improve.

Chamath says the top seven AI companies are raising so much money that they are crowding out the Treasury market
"The entire United States economy is levered to the AI complex. We're talking about seven or eight companies that set the tone for the entire country. And whether we like it or not, that is where we are."
"The most important companies in the world are in a massive spending binge. These were highly profitable, highly cash accretive, highly cash flow generative businesses that have said 'we're going to put the foot down on spending because we believe in what's coming into the future'. That's what drives GDP, and it's what drives growth."
"The AI complex now owes $340-400 billion to the market. These companies are raising so much money, it starts to crowd out the capital markets. And the most important part of the capital market that it starts to crowd out is the appetite for government treasuries."
"The amount of money that they need to raise through the end of 2027, it's 30% of all of what the Treasury is about to issue in that same period. So they're, whether we like it or not, they are going to start competing for demand.:
"Isn't this nuts? You have seven companies that are crowding up the treasury market."
Politics is extremely simple yet people overthink so many aspects of why beliefs shift or a candidate is losing.
Politicians have one main purpose and it’s the economy. Low unemployment across all demographics and keeping the costs of living affordable for 95% of Americans.
When you have that you can push for different ideas or policies
If you don’t, nothing else matters to voters. Americans want to see a thriving and productive country. In which everyone who wants to work, can
Right now there are too many unemployed people.

I saw Sam Hammond debate AI consciousness tonight. It's incredible this argument packed out Butterworth's. Amazing times.
Hammond made the stronger case. What does a brain do? What does an AI do?
Better think about it. Better think harder! Because we aren't the only ones.
