Is this the end of the INTERNET?! 15,074 new CVEs got published in September alone 🫣 A CVE is basically an ID for a publicly known security bug. September 2025 had 4,537, so that's about 3.3x in one year.

One researcher, some AI models and about a week turned an old PHP bug into a global crashout. PHP runs about 70% of all websites and every version back to 5.4 is affected, so WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and even a plain "Hello World" app.

Patched versions are 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35. Updating WordPress does NOT update PHP, so you need to update PHP itself, restart the workers and check containers and hosting panels too.

The first three work because of a routing peer. That's just a normal NetBird peer sitting inside the network that forwards traffic for the devices that can't run the client themselves, like that NAS in Toronto.
