As a reminder, there's no VAR for the Fleetwood Town League Cup match, as the EFL only use VAR in rounds where ALL the home teams have access to the technology (i.e. PL stadiums).
Last season, VAR was only used in the semi-final & final, as Cardiff City hosted in the quarters.

People are trying to be pedantic about Arteta’s comments here, but if you’re pedantic enough, then he’s right.
Only two 16-year-olds have ever made more PL appearances than Dowman has (for now, he needs 2 more for the record), and neither were playing in the Champions League.
If you count Dowman’s apps in all comps, he’s already surpassed the Wayne Rooneys and Aaron Lennons, and there’s no PL player matching him.
If you told me before today that we’d already beaten Everton 2-0 this season, I wouldn’t have doubted you. Most believable scoreline.
I thought it was a bad decision when I thought he’d given the free-kick to Dowman instead of playing advantage. But against him? 😭
Really needed that second goal. We’ve been great, but you don’t want to have to keep up that intensity for the full 90 if you don’t have to, and we shouldn’t have needed to.
If Arsenal’s midfielders/wingers can keep making runs off Gyokeres like Rice’s vs Bayern and Ødegaard’s today, we’ll get a lot more out of putting the ball into him.
It’s clear those lay-offs are something he’s capable of.
Really good half in every respect except finishing, and that one time Ben White gifted Everton a 1v1. Other than that, great stuff.
