The Quantified Self: Learning to Observe from @agaricus arrived!
The @quantifiedself Bay Area meetups were hugely influential for me. Looking forward to digging into these stories …and revisiting my own 2015 QS talk along the way.

18 years ago Gary Wolf @agaricus and I launched the Quantified Self (QS) movement, which is still going. Gary finally wrote a book detailing what we have learned so far, and on Thursday, October 8, 5:30 PM at the Book Passage in the Ferry Building San Francisco, he and I will introduce his book and do a classic QS show and tell session. Is Quantified Self still active?
Yes — we’re back with a newly revived website and archive and a new Substack newsletter, Learning to Observe. Personal experiments, useful methods, and new work from the QS community:

every few years some fabrication tech goes from "submit a quote and we'll tell you to get lost" to "automated online quote and it will be less than $50", like PCBs, laser cutting plastics, 3D printing, it's really cool!

After reading this piece by @quantifiedself and @agaricus, I realized that being an Astronaut is the most effective and modern way to exercise the Greek aphorism "Know Thyself".
I am an Astronaut 🧑🏼🚀!
And you?

Long-tailed tits are hard at work as their nest building begins. Lined with sometimes over a thousand feathers and camouflaged with lichen and cobwebs these masterpieces aren't made overnight and nests can take up to a month to build, with work starting in February.
