There was a time, not long ago, when you sat in a room, and it didn’t matter who was in that room; as far as politics went, people were respectful. As a man who can still hold his own at 55, I’ve amateur boxed. I still do a sixty-minute workout every day in my home gym. Run two km on the treadmill in the evening. Try to punch it out on the speed bag, heavy bag, every day for 20 minutes or more. I conduct myself online as if I was in a room with people. There is a certain respect you expect from those around you. Unless we feel we have done nothing to be disrespectful, we should feel safe in the company of fellow Canadians. Right? Liberals’ have had majority mandates for 70 out of the past 100 years. Of the 30 years of CON rule, only 16 had majorities. Conservatives have only had majorities 16 out of the past 100 years. I don’t think that ratio will ever change much for long. I believe most Canadians want to preserve the principles that Canada was founded on, regardless of religious or current political beliefs. Unlike many Liberals, I’m not afraid of Poilievre, even if he managed a majority - it won’t come election time. People are getting to know him. When the steam runs out of the Trudeau haters, he has become part of history. When Covid-19, lockdowns, and the Freedom Convoy become distant memories. Mr. Poilievre is also becoming a distant memory. When all of the thousands of pushers of hate and division are gone from X and other social media, maybe Canadians will start to heal and become neighbours again — not foes. @Martyupnorth_2 continuous outrageous posts -I’ve commented on a couple. In days gone by, what mattered: Were you kind, honest, respectful, cared for the community, a hard worker, good parent, do you make me laugh, do you give good hugs, thanks for the helping hand, and the list goes on.
