The critics called it a mockery of democracy, but the entire event came across as a compelling exercise of constitutional rights in a democracy where too many avenues for dissent are being blocked. @rahulGandhi’s and @meira_kumar’s concluding speeches were dignified and sober, in keeping with the seriousness and importance of the issues facing the nation. → In Serbia, the state broadcaster RTV opened its news bulletin with an apology.

→ The night before, the channel had not shown people celebrating the Student List's victory. The next day, it opened the news with that same footage.
