Bombshell: Oliver Sacks (a humane man & a fine essayist) made up many of the details in his famous case studies, deluding neuroscientists, psychologists, & general readers for decades. The man who mistook his wife for a hat? The autistic twins who generated multi-digit prime numbers? The institutionalized, paralyzed man who tapped out allusions to Rilke? Made up to embellish the stories. Probably also: the aphasic patients who detected lies better than neurologically intact people, including Ronald Reagan's insincerity. newyorker.com/magazine/2025/…

Harvard forced out the director of the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights — another shakeup at a center whose programming on the Israel-Palestine conflict has been a flashpoint at the University.

Mumbai-Pune-Nashik-Vadhawan should now become India's first urban Super Cluster, offering everything for business, entertainment, and a good life in general. Delhi is thinking along these lines with the National Capital Region. Not sure why Mumbai is so far behind.

This shows what a tough spot Harvard is in. They've already caved morally in the most shameful way, and yet the administration is still squeezing them for not going further.
In January 2025, Harvard University adopted a new definition of antisemitism. (insidehighered.com/news/dive…)
It defines antisemitism as, among other things, "drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis."
The definition is known as @TheIHRA definition of antisemitism (holocaustremembrance.com/res…).
Thus, Harvard would have defined Albert Einstein as an antisemite, who, in 1948, described the Israeli political party Herut as a “political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy & social appeal to Nazi and fascist parties.” (arabnews.com/node/1289796)
Harvard would have also defined David Ben Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister, an antisemite, who "regularly" liked Menachem Begin to Hitler (jstor.org/stable/30245767)
Harvard University has adopted a cartoonish definition of antisemitism. Harvard is intellectually bankrupt. It exists to promote and debate and discussion over what is and is not antisemitism, not restrict the conversion around it. What a toxic wealth management firm. sorry, university.

Not for me to “explain”. But I cannot express enough respect & admiration for the tremendous courage & fortitude displayed by young Himanshi Narwal, in the face of a huge tragedy. Those who can stoop so low as to insult a Veer Nari, deserve the nation’s contempt.
Just a thought :
The @indiannavy has legitimate interest and locus standi to protect the honour and well being of its Officer and his widow.
It’s perplexing & disappointing that no FIR is registered as yet against the vile abusers of Himanshi Narwal

I am not a virologist or an infectious disease doctor but know something about healthcare. Here is a warning about an upcoming epidemic. Given the news of #HMPvirus , the memory of #COVIDー19 & our health system we will see attempts to monetize it. A costly test called bio fire will be promoted. All sorts of medications will be used. Drs will prescribe costly antivirals. And maybe even antibiotics. Images from China will be flashed & experts who have never treated #HMPV_Virus will appear on TV & make inane statements. Isolation wards will be created. Panic & fear is good for a section of our healthcare. Remember COVID was a financial bonanza for some whilst a disaster for many others. Be warned. Stay calm & sensible.

It advocates for strengthened price controls to reduce the cost of medicine.

Why are medicines so costly in India, despite the country being the largest producer of generic formulations and a leading manufacturer of vaccines? Dr. Anant Phadke of ADAN breaks down the dynamics that direct these high prices in this Policy Watch:
