This will be my last post on Twitter.
I didn’t carry on calling it that because I’m stubborn or don’t like change. For me it was the town square where I shared ideas had my eyes opened. X is a cess-pit of polarisation, hatred and bullying. 🧵
I stayed because I thought it would get better. It didn’t. Each day reading it has truly depressed me. Since moving to #Bluesky I’ve refound civil debate and kindness. So I’m off. I’ll keep this account open but would urge all who follow me to… well, follow me.

Apparently @SF_England can no longer answer DMs. We have to sign in on the website and use the portal . Only problem is my DSA has been rejected because I used last years form. There is only last years form. I can’t find this years and when I applied online - as instructed.
So now I’m caught in limbo with no application other than the one that was rejected. FYI… took them three months to tell me this. As an academic, I now get to see what it’s like to be a student and this really is behind the looking-glass. An email has been sent so let’s see

I don’t think anyone will ever be able to fully comprehend the extent of intergenerational trauma that is being created right now as we speak. This will be a stain on the history of humanity forever.
Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you my favourite thing in the world is @Fortnums Rose & Violet Cremes. After this behaviour though I’m not sure I want to patronise them anymore. The act is very poor, but the silence from F&M is deafening. Please rectify this.
Hi @Fortnums 👋 as you’re aware, the Olympic and Paralympic medalists were invited to Buckingham Palace yesterday. It would be nice to understand why you hosted an after party for the Olympic medalists but made the decision not to invite the Paralympic medalists? Why? 😅😅

40% of UC claimants are the working poor others are carers, have disabilities or illness, & some who don't have work, want it. A little more compassion & less judgement wouldn't hurt.

"Caps deductions made through Universal Credit at 15% of the standard allowance. Before this Budget, it was 25%... approximately 1.2 million households will keep more of their Universal Credit payment each month, with households expected to be better off by an average of over £420 a year"

If implemented, the laws adopted today by the Knesset of Israel would likely prevent @UNRWA from continuing its essential work in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, with devastating consequences for Palestine refugees.
I call on Israel to act consistently with its obligations under the Charter of the @UN & international law. National legislation cannot alter those obligations.
I am bringing this matter to the attention of the UN General Assembly, and will keep the Assembly closely informed as the situation develops.
There is no alternative to UNRWA.
