Don't be a rubbish visitor this summer!
The Countryside Code - created by the Yorkshire Land Network - features young rangers exploring the countryside, seeing some unpleasant sights and advising on how you can avoid some common mistakes.
Small actions make a big difference🙂
Making a difference to our community on a well walked route, and ahead of the expected throng of visitors to #Malton Food Festival

Anyone else finding discarded block batteries like these on their #litter picks? Likely discarded by highways workers, along with all the cones, signs and sandbags (costing ££££). Bad for the environment. @cleanupbritain

The scourge of the countryside. Fly tipping tyres and mattresses is bad enough but the smaller items can all be taken home and binned, instead they’re blown around and left for someone else to pick up. Can only hope the ban on single use plastics and deposit return scheme helps.
Yet more evidence (if any more is really needed) of how some people trash our nation with #litter & dumping. Picked around an informal layby @northyorksc @East_Riding boundary south of #Wharram @RyedaleDC B road in #yorkshirewolds @cleanupbritain @maltontidygroup on tour
Some people don't mess around in North Yorkshire in trying to tackle #flytipping #litter @cleanupbritain
Update: 20 people were out cleaning up our community, 41 bags of litter collected on the day.
